I just discovered that Vernon actually has a Chinese restaurant, and it’s easily the best Chinese food I’ve had in nearly three years.

The dishes were fresh and tasted amazing. I have a sensitive stomach, so I ordered non-spicy dishes. I highly recommend the roast goose, crab, and Kung Pao chicken!

I suggest calling ahead to place your order. The owner is very kind and patient, and the restaurant has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It was a truly memorable meal. I will definitely bring my family back next time!

I have been treating myself to food from here for 12 years. I am always so happy with the staff, and the food. I always feel good after over eating my faves:) The chef makes the best chow mein in town. The food is always fresh and stays really hot till i get home(i usually do take out). its always done in reasonable time with really generous portions. I love this place. its one of my regular local go-tos.

I have been coming to
Kiki Gardens for nearly 40 years.
In all my time, dining at Kiki Gardens and enjoying their delectable Chinese food, I do not believe there has been a change of ownership other than that of retirement.
The elderly Chinese cook is amazingly talented, as is the other 4 chefs they have. Their food is always very delicious.
I am sad to see they could not re-open their smorgasboard offering since covid 19. Government health rules have definitely ruined the enjoyment of patrons at more than one restaurant. This, however, has not deterred from the delicious flavor of their dishes on their menu. The smorgasboard then was the best I have ever eaten. . . anywhere.
Nowdays, they also have a very scrumptious and reasonably priced lunch special!
Come in for lunch or a flavorful Chinese dinner and say hello to Sheryl and the talented friendly staff!

Update (December 11 2025):

After visiting all 237 eateries, I have been cycling back to the eateries I wasn’t as in-depth with as before.

I bought the 4 course combo for $25.55. Golden Crown’s was a 5 course combo for $25.95.

I picked chicken chow mein, beef chop suey, sweet and sour pork, and sweet and sour chicken.

I paid $31.34 after tax and a 15 percent tip.

The food came within seven minutes of when I ordered.

The serving size is big but not as big as Jade’s and Golden Crown’s. It is big but just not humongous. I felt full after eating.

The servers were very friendly.

The chow mein was more flavourful compared to Jade’s and Golden Crown’s combos. The sweet and sour chicken tasted a bit chewy on the inside.

The chop suey has more broccoli and cauliflower than other restaurants’ chop sueys. The broccoli needed a bit more flavour.

Sweet and sour pork was tasty.

Overall, I had a pleasant experience because of the friendly servers and would come back to try their hot pot.

Also, another nearby table had an elderly man with a comically long beard tell some interesting stories.

Kiki Gardens was my 125th restaurant in Vernon.

My friend and I had our quarterly lunch date.

I had Shanghai Noodles which were delicious.

I can’t comment on the cost as my friend paid for the meal.

The chef came out to verify my friend was fine with specific ingredients in her wor won ton soup because of her recent dental procedure.

Overall, it was yet another delicious meal in Vernon.

While visiting Vernon, We had take out and it arrived quickly and was still hot. The food was plentiful and delicious. The sweet and sour pork and the sesame chicken were both very nicely done.

Paid $32 plus tax for what turned out to be a very small bowl of sweet and sour pork. Starter size, at best. Have ordered from here many times over the years, but never again. Outrageous price for the portion, and it wasn’t even good.

I have been going to this restaurant for the last 8 years. It’s the best Chinese food in town, my favorite is the veggie chop suey and chow mein. I followed Judy to this location from her previous restaurant in lumby. Loved them both. Great family, great staff, great food.

Staff was friendly, food was good. Location is the only trouble as parking in this area can be tight at times.
