Always great, but the last few months have been shaky. The woman running the cash register keeps trying to upsell over and over and will ask multiple times for the same upsell despite you saying no. I genuinenly have avoided her because she flat out has made me uncomfortable. The meat or veggies have been a bit cold or stale recently. The price increase is a dissapointment, too.
Chicken Teriyaki with veggies can’t be beat! Really unique flavor I enjoy.
Hoping things improve so I can alter my review.
Judging from other reviews, it’s gone downhill this year. 8/10 time it’s perfect. Maybe be wary if there’s a female cashier–always seems to be an issue if she’s at the head.

What a horrible experience. If I could give less than one I would. Was accused of trying to steal my friends food, she could barely walk, then was told I already was served when I wasn’t. Showed my reciept that I paid and the staff tried to keep my reciept. Other patrons were telling them I ordered and paid and they ignored them too. Then and only then when I demanded a refund oh they were able to put rice chicken and veggies in a take out. Shady place horrible staff and less than adequate food.

The food is really good. Though, if ordering double meat, they will cheat you, particularly on a slow day. Trying to make up for lost revenue I suppose. The guy cooking my food today 12/09/24. Was a piece of work. I ordered double meat. I said something to the cashier whom put an extra half ladle of beef on the grill. She was the only reason I gave a 4 star on the service. Usually when your food is cooked and put into the tray, they ladle the teriyaki sauce over the top. He did not, just slide the tray towards me. I asked for extra teriyaki sauce and he gave me a little, like 1/3 ladle, when I asked for more, he gave me a tad more with a look like I was bothering him and needed to go away. I won’t order again if I see him cooking and that a shame cause I’m a regular there and really enjoy the food. Please don’t be so rude and cinch y when I’m paying almost 17.00 for a tray of mostly noodles and cabbage, and with a little bit of meat and teriyaki.

Got my normal order, took ages, chicken was okay but was chewy.
Takes forever even though the items are cooked and on the grill.. portions seem to be getting smaller and smaller. I get 80% rice and 20% chicken and vegetables.
What gives this 1 star is the bugs and roaches crawling on the counter 18 inches from where my food is cooked, and where it sits waiting for me to grab it. Disgusting and this place should be shut down.

The Gem of the Salisbury mall! I have been coming here for 5 years, I get the same thing every time (chicken teriyaki extra veg), and every time it is freaking delicious. The consistency is insane. The portions are huge, I’ve never been able to finish it in one sitting. It’s not an awesome place to sit and eat, but it’s a mall food court, what do you expect? Worth stopping in, in my opinion!

Female at the counter with glasses has a very nasty attitude. She rushes through the order and hardly gives you a chance to speak. The cooks don’t speak English or if they do, they just revert you back to the female taking the order. I have visited this place 4 times in the last 3 years but my most recent trip 3/31 was the worst. 2 people before me both had issues with the female, I didn’t pay much attention hoping it was just minor but sadly not. I had the same issues as the others ahead of me. It wasn’t at closing time, there wasn’t a long line and there was no reason to be rushing. Sadly with the mask and her dialect you can’t understand her very well. No need for such a nasty attitude and going 1000 mph. Food is mediocre at best. At least the food could be better to offset the nasty attitude but that is not the case. Unless you REALLY want greasy lo mien avoid this place.

$7 for stale soba noodles? Never again will I. Service was slow and the woman at the counter had a bad attitude. Save your money and go elsewhere if you’re craving Japanese food, cause this place ain’t it.

Fast service. Friendly staff. Food is always hot, fresh and DELICIOUS. never has my order been wrong. Loved going to Sarku Japan in Dover Mall. Glad they opened up here in Salisbury.
