This RV campground is fantastic! The hostess is super nice and welcoming. When we arrived last night, it was closed because she had gone to a neighbor’s house for a party. She happened to come back and let us order food and check in. They have showers, toilets, and a laundry room. They also provide water, wastewater, and electricity. It’s very convenient and highly recommended.

I’ll start by saying if you’re looking for fast food, it’s not here. This is a family business, and they all work very hard, every day, all day, to run this spot! So it may not be the hilton, but the food was good, the owners are very sweet, and I spent 5 days here and loved it. Things were a bit crazy because of the 4th of July crowd. But Mark and his wife kept things moving with a smile. I’ll be back next year for sure!

The campsites are in a big gravel lot, but excellent laundry and shower facilities. You won’t get friendlier service at any café or better pies and pizza. This is our second time here and it is amazing! Also get the dumplings!!

Love this place!!! Friendly services. We actually stopped by twice during our trip to Valdez on the way in and out…because we knew we can get a great service. They have also awesome coffee!! Pizza is only available after 3 pm… and it’s good. There are a short trail behind the building too.

We were scheduled to spend one night here before heading home but decided to extend our stay 3 days. We drove to Valdez one day but spent the others here hiking, viewing the glacier and watching the sheep on the mountain through our scope. We ate dinner one night. I chose from their asian menu which was very good.
Mark was very helpful and informative. Thank you!

Grandview RV and Café is very highly recommended. We needed a place to stay with full hook ups and laundry and a bonus that had a restaurant that was extremely good. We had some snacks of spring rolls and wontons in the afternoon then pizza and salad in the evening. And another bonus it’s right near Matanuska glacier and there’s also a walk behind the campground where you can walk on a bluff and view the glacier and view the campground. The food is excellent. The staff is wonderful and so very friendly.

I really wanted to like this place, but the Asian food was just a let down. We got the chow mein, fried rice, fried wontons, kung pao chicken, and the salmon special. The chow mein was just plain noodles(not even fried) mixed with veggies and chicken. The fried rice had no flavor and was clumpy and used frozen veggies. Wontons were just the fried paper with barely any filing, see picture. Kung pao chicken was ok and the salmon special was ok but the fish was not fresh, after being told it was. Super nice people and it’s a family owned place, but please look at the food you put out. Then pressured when paying to tip more…

Maybe get the pizza instead

Absolutely amazing stop! The food was all handmade, delicious and hit the spot. While staying here we tried their house special fried wontons, handmade pizza, beer battered onion rings and their club with freshly prepared coleslaw. This Cafe has everything you would want all in one location.
If you’re staying here overnight, they come fully equipped with showers, bathrooms, coin operated laundry and all the RV hookups. Free WiFi for guests. Picnic tables are at every RV spot with a truly grand view of Lion’s Head and the rest of the Matanuska Glacier grandeur.
For those who want a quick and easy hike, they have you covered as well.
Grand View Cafe and RV truly is one of Alaska’s hidden gems. We can’t wait to come back!

Just a terrific little campground!! We camped for two nights in a tent and had a great time. The pizza was quite good and was a welcome change from the dehydrated meals we’d been having while hiking in Chugach. Honestly, the rest of the menu looked so good I wish we could have tried more, especially some of the Asian dishes. The hosts/owners were very friendly and super hospitable. The place had clean showers and a small coin operated laundry so we could clean up a bit in the middle of our ten-day trip in AK. I can’t recommend this place enough!
