Everything from the food to the service from our waitress was excellent! The music and cozy atmosphere made it such a fun spot for a brunch date. The fried deviled eggs were a standout favorite! Highly recommend trying them! 10/10, and we’ll definitely be back soon!

Great atmosphere and food. I was surprised to see the restaurant not as busy with the level of food and service in a place like this. One thing I would change is the reservation policy. Some people might be turned off by the pricey cancellation policy. I’m glad I took a chance though. Our waitress who was also a manager was amazing. We will definitely be back soon

The servers were nice but the food is terrible. I really hope they improve since this seems like a new restaurant.
We ordered Ceasar salad and shrimp scampi meatballs to start. The “Bayou Caesar” dressing was more like Caesar/thousand island and I was expecting a spicy Ceasar or something remoulade inspired. It was also covered in limp bacon bits which wasn’t listed on their menu.*
The shrimp scampi meatballs were like crab cakes but with shrimp. They’re served in a cream sauce and they were cold in the middle – so it’s unlikely this is a fresh made item. We each ate one (there were 4) and had the waitress take it away.
The bread service was cold untoasted bread rounds with a spiced olive oil.
We ordered Poulet Parmesan and Tuscan Shrimp. When asked if Tuscan Shrimp was served with pasta, the waitress said it was “4 shrimp in a soup. And it’s an appetizer,” even though it was listed on the Ode to La Scala section of the menu.* We hoped that meant it was a favorite item from the other menu…after getting the item, I doubt that’s true.
The Shrimp were served in a cream sauce (not a soup) with artichoke and olives. One bite of one shrimp was more than enough. My guest thought it was uncooked, but I think it was cooked from frozen and that’s why it was cold and wet inside.
The Poulet Parmesan is supposed to be like chicken parm with “house made linguine” but the noodles were mushy and tiny. It was bizarre; like overcooked ramen noodles that were maybe 1 inch long. I commented that it looked like someone had pre-chewed them.
I would not recommend this place to anyone. It was $85 worth of awful and I feel badly for the waitstaff, who are very nice but are working with a menu of sub-par freezer food that’s neither Italian nor Cajun.
*Note: menu online from their website is NOT current. Also, NOLA Scala seems to have taken over from La Scala, an Italian restaurant.

The food was great, Service was warm and friendly, espresso was great! The menu is not huge, but very well curated, especially the drink list. The atmosphere inside is very comfy and cute. Good spot for a date night, or small party for a special occasion. It’s not very big, only about 25 tops, including about 7 at the bar. Call ahead or go in early to make reservations, it’s definitely a unique place in downtown Taylor

Used to come here all the time in the original La Scala days, but stopped coming due to many reasons, BUT so glad we came for Brunch. The food was delicious, I had the Boudin Benedict. The only reason I gave it 4 stars for atmosphere is we sat outside and we miss the flower pots. They helped block the traffic noise a lot. Bring in a wall or something so we can sit in peace on the patio.

I called at about 9:15 PM on March 7 and somebody picked up the phone and I asked them if they were really going to be open until 10 o’clock like it shows on their GBP and they said yes. I told them that we were headed that way. We got there at about 9:30 PM and the door was locked and the lights were out. I tried to call them back, but they didn’t answer. I just cannot imagine why they would do that. I hope that they respond to this review in such a way that this can be resolved. I don’t like to give poor reviews, but this is just unacceptable.

This is my second time giving scala and co. my business and they have failed again I ordered the fettuccine with the red fish added after she asked if I wanted chicken I said no ill take the fish (gotta have protein) then I said should I add crawfish tails nah just add the fish yes! I was excited about the handmade pasta. They bring me a red dish order took 40 minutes to bring me the incorrect dish. When I told the wait staff it was not what I ordered she said well you said the fish….. yeah maam added on my pasta as the protein she then offered to bring me something else which I declined being there another 40 minutes it looked tasty. The fish was so salty and honestly inedible I took it home to my partner and guess what they also said wow what a disappointment to plate so well and it taste so salty. The broccolini was great as well as the crawfish and shrimp. Dont argue with patrons who are ordering admit your faults and move on.

I personally love this place, the wait staff is amazing and always very cheerful. I love the energy they bring to the place, they always have a smile on their face, kind to talk to, easy to work with, and all around great people.(our waitress was Teniel, and she was amazing! Definitely gonna give her props for this one.) I also really appreciate the changes they’ve made, the atmosphere is great, very welcoming and not overstimulating with the decor. I adore the aesthetic theyre going for. The food is also very well put together, i usually order any of their pastas, and they always come out amazingly. Full of flavor and never a wait. Will definitely, and always come back for more.

Food was excellent. Honestly, the drinks were really great. We really enjoyed the Nola a la Scala cocktail. We enjoyed our food and our bottle of wine. The space is so quaint and so cute. The waitress wasn’t super great at explaining all of the drinks and dishes, but she had such a great attitude and we appreciate that so much. We want this charming restaurant in Taylor to thrive. Would highly recommend

My daughter and I wandered around Taylor and found this cute little hidden spot. We walked in and were invited in with a big, bright smile. Bella is her name I believe. We were pleasantly surprised by how delicious the food was! We started with the boudin arancini which was suggested by our friendly waitress and then had an entree (Redfish Raquel) which we shared. Prices were reasonable and portions were perfect! Will definitely be in next time we’re in town!!
