Every time I’ve had a long busy day at least once a week there is nowhere else. I’ll rather stop for fresh sushi to take home or sometimes even eating while enjoying the lovely customer service. The staff are always willing to chat and show Personal interest whilst still being very professional.
The kitchen gives you the reassurance that the food is being dealt with respectively and with the upmost hygiene.
The picture does not do any adjusted due to my cracked blurry camera.
Despite their high delivery inbound calls and orders, they always seem to be efficient.

The quality of sushi is unreal. So fresh. Every bite is a pleasure. Ordered once on delivery and once for pick up in person. The food travels well on delivery and if picking up in shop the chefs/front of house are lovely. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for sushi in Norwich. It’s so good!

The best everyday sushi in Norwich by a country mile. Yes, if you’ve got a bit more time and money Shiki takes some beating, but for a good-quality, healthy lunch under a tenner in town (and there’s plenty of competition), Matane always delivers.
Be aware that this is very much a takeaway place with a bit of seating. It’s fine to eat in but a bit bright and cold and the one big table isn’t always clean. Vibes could be improved without too much effort.

food is absolutely delicious!! great selection and tasty sauces however, staff are ignorant and someone on the team clearly cannot roll! ive ordered about 4 times now and twice all my sushi was falling apart. Very sad as the food is best here by far compared to other places around norwich

I came to this place after hearing good things about it.
In reality, every single word is less than this place deserves!
One of the best sushi place I’ve been to! Still licking my fingers.
Variety of dishes (including dumpling), excellent+++ food. You just want more!
Don’t dare missing it. Dine in, order or take away.
Amazing!
Ohhh, and don’t skip the cheesecake mochi as a desert!

Took my daughter for her birthday treat we ordered the biggest platter (which really was way too much for two!) was a good selection of sushi there’s only a few seats in the shop think mainly it’s for take home! Obviously we didn’t eat all of it so the staff taped a lid on for us and we took the rest home !

Thanks for bringing some pretty decent sushi in town. I’d recommend visit it instead of the usual chain restaurants as you get such better quality. You can order and wait or if you are in a rush you can pick from the ready made boxes. They also have a seating area to eat in if you don’t want to take away.
If you are celebrating with friends they have big shared platter options, like the 50£ that was a good portion for 4 people.

We have been going to Matane for years and it is hands down the best sushi we have found in Norfolk.
Their selection is fantastic and the sushi rolls are delicious, if anyone wants take away sushi quickly i recommend here.
For larger groups their sharing platters are excellent and for individuals their portions are well sized.
Their staff are really nice and have never made us feel unwelcome or awkward.
The only downside is their restaurant seating is very limited, around 10 seats inside on a communal table or window table. We have eaten in before and it was perfectly comfortable but I wouldn’t go for a dinner with multiple people.
Long story short- Eat here! Take away is the best option, the staff are also very nice!

I’m a sushi LOVER, and I have to admit I’ve walked past this place many times because it didn’t look appealing from the outside. Today, I stopped by M&S for a quick sushi snack, but their offering was £6 and looked awful. So, I decided to check this place out, and I was blown away by the freshness of the fish. I got emotional with my first bite I didn’t realize it could taste this good! My husband and I usually go to Shiki because the owner is Japanese, and the food is great, but this place is way cheaper with flavors that feel much more premium. I mean it! From today this place officially become my new favorite sushi spot! I was the Filipino girl who got a takeaway earlier by the way..free meal perhaps for a lovely review? On a serious note… I don’t usually write reviews—this is only my second one ever—but this place deserves it. And yes, I know I have red wine in the photo; I’m aware it’s traditionally paired with white but I’m just not a fan of white wine…sooo shhh… I’m a red wine lover through and through! Definitely will be coming back again
