We ate at Nielsen’s at 4pm on a Saturday. It was not super busy. You can order at the drive thru, at the walk up window, or inside. We ordered and ate inside. The young lady took our order accurately and recited it back to make sure it was correct. We ordered a bacon cheeseburger, a pastrami burger, onion rings, and a concrete. She gave us good advice on which concrete (Custard) toppings to add.
It took about 5 to 10 minutes to get our food, and our food was very fresh. Since we weren’t ready for the concrete, we asked to have them keep it cold in the freezer for us so it didn’t melt while we ate the food. The pastrami burger was excellent. The bun was very soft and fresh, the pickles had a nice crunch to them, and the pastrami and burger tasted great with the lettuce and sauce. I tried my wife’s bacon cheeseburger, and it was tasty also. The onion rings (there were some rings and some slices) and the fry sauce for also excellent. We ordered an Oreo cookie dough concrete, and the custard was creamy, and the cookie dough was very good. We scarfed the whole thing, and splitting it was plenty of custard after a meal. It cost us about $27 for everything, which is a little bit steep, but not too out of control for the current inflation.
My wife appreciated the diner atmosphere, and the oldies music. I thought the music was a touch loud, but not too overbearing. They had tv screens that showed other Nielsen’s locations and some cool historical facts about the franchise. The menu above the registers were a little bit small in terms of size and font, I think this is something they could definitely improve on.
Overall we were both very happy with the food and the concrete, and we will be back!

The food is good, but really expensive. Fries, Burger and shake is about $20. FYI Don’t ask for extra fry sauce at the window because it costs an extra $0.60 and they want to run your credit card for it. I feel like if you’re spending almost $20 on a meal they should just throw an extra one in, if requested. The guy that took my order seemed ornery and also seemed like he was trying to force a fake voice when he was talking.

Giving the food 1 star because at the amount they charge I would expect better. The garden cheese burger barely had any lettuce on it. I’ve had burgers with the same price tag that tasted 10x better and didn’t look like they were thrown together. The onion rings were dry and overcooked. They tasted like they had been overcooked and sitting for a while. I won’t be buying food here anymore. The quality does not fit the high price tag.

This is a great contribution to the North Ogden scene. The custard is creamy and delicious, it doesn’t disappoint in all the varieties. If you go and don’t get custard then you do not understand what this place does best. They also have a pretty deep menu of food selection too. It was pretty fast and they were patient with all our custom requests. They had a lot of helpers and the option to order inside or outside. We’ll be back….

I have been waiting for over 15 minutes in the drive-through for my food. However, they gave me the custard items first so now both custard are melted and I’m still waiting for my food. There are a total of six cars waiting behind me that I could actually see when the lady came to bring out food for the car in front of me, I asked her how much longer it would be and she said two minutes, and I showed her how my customer was melted. She didn’t even consider to offer me a new custard and told me it should be about two minutes. It’s now been six.

Dude…! Best food at 10pm 🙂 now… the meats fresh pressed. They used real cheddar! The onion rings were fried in clean oil!! Yes haha, that’s a big one.

We love the custard here so we had to try the food. I got the Philly cheese steak sandwich. It was really good with the onions and cream cheese. The onion rings were top notch also. We also got the double garden burger, chicken sandwich and pastrami burger. Everyone loved them. We will be back.

Tried for the first time and I got the cherry chocolate concrete shake and it was delicious!! So yummy, only comes in one size and it’s very big so good for sharing, I couldn’t finish it myself. The food was okay, I got the turkey sandwich, quite dry and not much flavor. Next time I’d definitely just do a shake and fries. The staff seems to be all very young so they are still learning and a big slow but that’s okay. I still definitely recommend this place! I’ve told all my friends about how amazingly good this place is. The prices are a bit steep, $20 for a shake, sandwich and fries.

We love going here, but tonight was exceptional because of DAN!! I told my family I need to know his name to leave a review and they said, “just leave a generic review”…. Ummm if I wanted to do that I would have the several other times we’ve been. This was different. DAN WAS GREAT!! Extra helpful, attentive, and KIND. The type of worker that makes you want to go back again and again. Thanks Dan!!!
