I wish I lived closer so I could eat here more often. The original Restutant we were going to eat at was closed and we found Tequila Rock just from walking. Soon as we walked in we were greeted and sat immediately. Two of us showed up on time out of group of 7, so I’m glad we didn’t have to wait for the entire group because we were hungry. The Restutant was really nice as well with decor. Cory was our server and he was fantastic! Conversation with him was so casual and stayed on top of checking in with us. The food was omg good. I got the chicken enchilada, but the star of the show at my table was the bang bang shrimp tacos. I never go to restaurants and order shrimp tacos because they never turn out good. But everybody at my table bragged on them that I had to try it. And Corey was so nice and asking me if I wanted to try it because I wasn’t sure if I could just order one taco. I will say these were the best shrimp tacos I’ve ever had. I cannot wait to go back.

My husband and I came here for lunch during our 1 year anniversary stay-cation and loved the food! I forgot to take pics until we’d already started eating, but I remembered for the dessert I got a chicken quesadilla from the appetizer menu and my husband got the brisket tacos with rice and refried beans. My stomach has been tetchy lately but I was determined to finish my plate, it was that good!! Super cheesy, and the chicken was very flavorful. The brisket tacos came with a spicy BBQ au jus sauce that was devine, the rice was flavored with lime and little bits of green peppers, and the refried beans also had a ton of flavor.
Our server, Todd, was very friendly and super attentive, recommending the tacos and the churros we eventually got for dessert. Our drink glasses never got empty!
The restaurant itself has a really nice atmosphere, sort of a mix between beach, Mexico, and modern. It feels updated and very clean, with a large bar containing a lot of drink options.
If you’re looking for a great place to eat that’s not on the busy main drag, I definitely recommend Tequila Rock!

Cute and eclectic vibe. Definitely not at all authentic, but still tasty! We had the street corn, margarita flight, fried chicken tacos, and brisket tacos and it was all delicious! The spicy pineapple margarita was the best!

Mexican food on a warm beach day is like Heaven on earth.
This place has a great location with both indoor and outdoor seating. Our server Celia was so friendly and nice. She had food recommendations and wanted to make sure we stayed hydrated in the heat. So sweet.
The chips and salsa with queso was so good. Our group of three Polished’s it off in no time.
One of us got a hamburger and it was good. Sometimes American food at a Mexican restaurant is sub par but not here. All of it was great.
The place was clean and decorated very cute. Everyone was friendly both inside and out.
Thanks for the great lunch and we will be back.

My wife and I stopped off in Tequila Rock and we were blown away by the service and food! My wife ordered the crispy chicken tacos and I had the Rock Star brisket tacos. Wow! Talk about flavor!! We also ordered the street corn as an appetizer and it was right on! The atmosphere is very nice and upscale so we were very surprised this awesome place was on the Strand. The margarita was tasty and the service was great! We very highly recommend you stop in. Next time we are in Galveston (we come here often), this will be our restaurant of choice! Thanks Tequila Rock! Ya‘ll Rock!

My wife & I just returned from our Royal Caribbean Cruise and decided to stay a few days before returning to Dallas. We were walking down the Strand Street sidewalk looking in several eateries. Tequila Rock Kitchen & Cantina’s Thursday special got the win! Greg greeted us and was very informative on the special. The food was delicious and the frozen margaritas hit the spot! His knowledge of Galveston sites was helpful in planning places to see. We will certainly be a regular!!

Very friendly staff. Chips & queso with brisket was really good. The Fajitas were also good. I thought it would be authentic Mexican food, but it’s definitely Tex-Mex. The salsa was not spicy at all, and I love my spice Still worth a try if you’re around the area!

The dining area is open with great music playing. Mix of Latin music and 70 rock music played at just the right volume to enjoy a conversation.
The food was both plentiful and very tasty. I enjoyed a house margarita it was very well made and delivered quickly.
Gavin my server was Top Notch! He was very pleasant and friendly. He provided the type of service that keeps you coming back!

We were in town and went here twice, it was that good. Our waiter Brian was fantastic- he’s actually the main reason we went back. He had told us the fajitas were really good so when we went back the second time that’s what we ordered. We were told they’re not pre-seasoned, not frozen, and freshly made. He was right on point. We ordered the 1/2lb mixed and it was more than enough for 2 people. Bonus points, certain days during the week they offer free kids meals (if you have kids) and other days they offer free margs with dinner. I branched our and ordered the key lime martini and it tasted just like a key lime pie. It even had the graham cracker rim.
