I live in Lexington and with that being said I do not find the bbq as good as they claim it to be. However, I have been hearing whispers in town about this place and decided to give it a try. Boy!! I’ve lived in NC since 2021 and this is by far hands down the BEST bbq we’ve had since! The flavor of the meat is smokey yet flavorful, don’t get me started on the portions. The starter nachos.. large enough to feed 2 adults and 1 child and still have leftovers. Their Texas Twinkies spicy as all get out but huge! Their spuds overflowing with goodness. Hannah B our waitress was an absolute gem! Kind, funny, responsive, and an overall delight to have serve us. The wait time was long, but well worth it and with the popularity of the food, I now understand why the lines were so long.Overall I give this place 5 stars. We will definitely be back!

Went here for the first time with my boyfriend and it quickly became our favorite barbecue place! Our server Jasmine was great, she was really helpful and really nice to interact with during our visit. We had the brisket super spud, I got mine with burnt ends and it was amazing! I also got the brisket Mac and cheese and the barbecue pit beans which were also really good. The food and service was incredible it was slammed and we still had quick service and great food!

I’ve been saying for years that Smoke Pit needs to get smaller portions for a more affordable price. I visit the Concord location usually when I want Bbq but decided to get food from the Salisbury location since it’s close by my job.
I noticed that they have a lunch combo on their menu for $15.99 so which was a great deal to me. I was blown away at how much food you get with the lunch special. I literally got 3 meals out of this one plate. Amazing! And the food was sooo good. Compliments to the chef. My meats were seasoned well and the barbecue sauce included was really good. Greens were seasoned to perfection, very favorable and the Mac and Cheese… I have no words to describe how delicious it was. The cornbread is always good… best in town. This is probably my favorite location out of the ones I’ve been to ( Concord and Gastonia).

Wow if you haven’t been here you need to!!! Amazing barbecue, awesome service !!! You might have a small wait for a table but it’s worth it !! We had the chopped brisket sandwich, white slaw, pork sliders and Mac and cheese! Also tried the jalapeño cheddar sausage link. All were amazing !!

My first experience at The Smoke Pit was great. We arrived shortly after 5 on a Saturday night to a crowded restaurant. We expected to wait for a table but our party of three was seated right away. We were greeted by the lovely Hennessy who took our drink orders and let us know our server would be right with us. Our server, Rebecca arrived with a smile and immediately made us feel welcome. She talked us through some menu options and helped us order what turned out to be an amazing meal. The Smoke Pit has won me over completely. Not only was every smoked meat we ordered deliciously seasoned and tender, the side dishes were equally tasty. The brisket was among some of the best I’ve had. The bark wasn’t overly thick or salty, the flavor penetrated deep into the meat, and it was fork-tender. Get the cornbread,Mac& cheese, or even the broccoli salad…is all can tell ya. I don’t think you can make a bad choice.

On our way back home to Georgia, we gotta stop somewhere to feed our hungry bellies! we’re so glad we saw the Smoke Pit BBQ here in Salisbury, it was our first time here and we kinda’ relied on the reviews, and we were not disappointed! Generous cut of brisket on their $18 lunch combo is my favorite! Red Slaw side is a must-try and they have variety of BBQ/Mustard sauce available on our table! Our servers amazing and attentive too! My husband and I both agreed that this is the best BBQ place we ever had so far here in the South!

Stopped in the Smoke Pit while passing through for work. I am so glad I stopped here! The food and service was spectacular! I got a BBQ sandwich with pulled pork, chopped brisket and sausage, covered in bbq sauce and some jalapenos. So so so good. The Mac and cheese side was one of the better Mac and cheese sides I have had at a BBQ place! I’ll definitely make this a spot to eat next time I’m passing through!

The food here is great the portions are good , the waitress was excellent, I’ll definitely be returning, I originally thought the prices where a little high but after we got our food my mind was changed, the ribs are juicy and they have a few sauces to pick from, I drove 45 minutes to them and I will be door again

This used to be my favorite place, which makes this review really disappointing to write. The food used to be amazing, but now it’s barely passable. The wings have changed and don’t taste the same at all. The mac and cheese has an odd, almost plastic like taste, and the brisket portion was shockingly small only three pieces. On top of that, the food quality is never consistent from visit to visit. Overall, this restaurant has really gone downhill, and I can’t say I’d recommend it anymore.

First time eating here and it was GREAT! Our waitress, Penny, was awesome! She helped us navigate the large menu and she was right – everything we ordered was delicious! We had pulled pork, ribs, brisket, sausage, creamed corn, baked beans, mac n cheese, hashbrown casserole, puppies and corn bread and loved it all! Plus the sweet tea! 🙂 And we had our leftovers the next night…just as good reheated! Awesome lunch, we will make the 1 hour drive again to eat here! Thanks Penny for a great experience!
