We came here because our son is home from college and we’ve been taking him to some nice places. The food was excellent. The service was also excellent. The atmosphere inside was nice. We got sushi, a pizza, a type of creamed seafood dish, a pot of mussels, French onion soup, and our drinks. Now at the end when the bill arrives, they charge you 3% for using your credit card? Seriously?

Let me ask you, Chesapeake Inn. Before you began charging everybody an additional 3% for using their credit cards, which I’m guessing 90+% of your customers do, did you first lower your menu prices by 3%?

Because if you didn’t this is nothing but a sleazy cash grab. I was told this is also the case at Klondike Kate’s and I can only assume it is at La Casa Pasta. That right there makes it so your restaurants will be last on my list. Can I afford it? Sure, fortunately I CAN afford it and anyone who knows me would tell you I’m anything but “cheap”, but when you know that virtually everybody uses their credit cards in today’s society and choose to do this versus just making it part of the overall price, you can count me out of visiting all of your restaurants because the sleazy feeling associated with you choosing to do business in this way casts a pale over everything else. That, and the lousy parking are why I deducted 2 stars from the overall experience when the food, service, and inside atmosphere were great and 5 stars.

Great atmosphere and large outdoor dining area. Fall was a great time to go sit out and watch people and boats while having a good drink and great food! I would highly recommended stopping in and taking friends! There is a more elegant indoor option as well for you high rollers.

Amazing service in particular from Ryan at the docks helping us during some gusts.
He ensured we were secure before helping the next boat.
Came back to just check up.
Seriously give this man a raise as he deserves it.

It was our first time dining there. We were celebrating our anniversary. Our initial impression wasn’t the best, as we waited about 10 minutes for valet to take our car – as there isn’t parking available. We had reservations, and were seating within 10 minutes which was fine. We tried the pot stickers and a sushi roll as an appetizer. We thought both were great. The bread was yummy too. We each got a glass of sangria (one white, one red). It wasn’t an in-house prepared sangria, which we prefer. It was just a regular glass of pre-made store sangria with a lemon and an orange garnish. Wasn’t bad, but I knew I wasn’t ordering another glass. Now onto the entrees….absolutely terrible. I got the sage ravioli and my partner got the short rib. Both were extremely bland and watery. It tasted like less than mediocre typical banquet food. Not even the presentation was good. Just ravioli and a wet soup with some carrot cubes. The chicken was so bland. After enjoying the apps as much as we did, I absolutely thought the entrees would be good too. We were VERY wrong. After dinner, it was another mission to get our car. It seemed incredibly unorganized. There was a party bus that was full of loud drunk people. The bus was parked in the center of the valet lines. No cars can come through. Valet didn’t even attempt to get the bus moving to allow not only us – but the line behind us, to get our vehicles. Needless to say, it was the first and last time we’d dine there.

The second we pulled up next to a McLaren in the parking lot, we knew we were in for something special Chesapeake Inn delivered at every level. The waterfront setting is absolutely stunning, with the marina and bridge views creating the perfect backdrop. Our waitress was incredibly kind and attentive, making the whole evening even better.

We kicked things off with a round of Strawberry Surfside’s, and for food we got super fresh, flavorful Crab Dip, the Prosciutto and Balsamic Pizza, Fish Tacos with great flavor, and a Spicy Tuna Roll that was clean and vibrant. Dessert was some recommended sweet cake with icecream, wow that was tasty. Even the music was on point, I ended up saving two songs from their playlist.

Top-notch food, service, and atmosphere. Already planning our next visit. Thank you!

Great location right on the water, nice atmosphere, & delicious food. Indoor and outdoor seating and different menus to choose from.
I was there from 4pm to about 6:30pm on a Friday. It was busy, lively and the music was nice!! A band was starting to setup and more people were arriving as I left. I ordered the lobster grilled cheese and there was a generous amount of

Great ambience, as always and lively live music!
Food is good, drinks are better and the service is the best.
Fried calamari and onion rings are absolutely finger-licking good and complement the drinks perfectly.

Outstanding food, service, and atmosphere. If you’d like a refreshing frozen drink, try the “Pain in De Ass”! Sushi is wonderful. Teamwork is apparent. I believe the owner (who also owns Klondike Kate’s in Newark and La Casa Pasta- an Italian DE staple) even stopped by to help bus our table! Talk about teamwork! Kudos to Chesapeake Inn- there’s a reason this beautiful place is so successful.

We have always loved the Chesapeake Inn. Their food, the service and the ambiance is just the best. We came tonight for an early Valentine’s dinner and got seats right at the bar with Tommy and Pam. They blew us away with their service. I had the best honey be mine cocktail from Pam and my husband’s old fashion made by Tommy was perfect. Couldn’t have picked a better place to celebrate ❤️
