In town for a wrestling tournament and I was craving some breakfast food… authentic, hot food… not Mcdonald’s and Google pointed me in the direction of Hometown Bakery.

The service was friendly and personable from the time I entered the door. Andy made me feel like I was a regular right away. That banana bread was marvelous and the breakfast portions are exceptional. You get more than what you pay for. Great food, great service, great experience

They have a phenomenal breakfast in the mornings! We were in town on business and met a colleague for breakfast.

10 out of 10, very friendly staff, fun place to talk, hang out and enjoy a good start to your morning. Will absolutely recommend!

The locals are very friendly.

Hidden Gem in the Middle of Nowhere

Stopped here while traveling through what felt like the middle of the country with nothing around — and wow, what a surprise. The Hometown Hashbrowns and Gravy were to die for. You can tell it’s made straight from mama’s scratch recipe — smooth, creamy, rich, and absolutely unforgettable. A side of fresh, local eggs on top sealed the deal. Honestly, no place will beat it in my book. Top-notch.

The menu itself feels old-school and welcoming, with just the right mix of hearty plates and homestyle touches. Out front, there’s even a quiet little park across the street — perfect for walking off breakfast.

Hard to believe the young woman running this spot came all the way from the West Coast, but she’s bringing serious skill. And let me tell you — the cakes she makes are showstoppers. I didn’t even get to try one, but just seeing them told me the locals must flock here for her cakes and sweets.

If you’re passing through, do yourself a favor and stop. Places like this are why small-town America still shines.

Place was quite the gem. Seems to be a one woman show, she was super friendly and sweet. Kind to our baby. Cooked everything herself and waited on us and others. Apparently most of the food is homegrown nearby and was so delicious! Will definitely keep this on our places to get breakfast when we pass through town. PS Homemade English muffin bread with real butter. BOOM.

I wish i had gotten her name but the lady who runs this small town breakfast-bakery is very hospitable and friendly. The coffee was great, fresh, proudly spoken of. The breakfast was delicious, perfect eggs and hashbrowns. Homemade toast, her great grandmother’s recipe. You’ve got to have her marmalade with it! All around great experience.

Really cute cafe! Has a great small town vibe. Both staff members were polite and attentive. Food was fair. Cinnamon roll was a dry and can use more cinnamon. I will definitely give it another chance next time I travel I70.

What could be better than a homemade doughnut and a fresh cup of coffee, along side and inviting setting with all kinds of folks from around town chewing on all types of topics! Oh, and free Wi-Fi!

The food was delicious, but the staff seemed a bit discriminatory towards Chinese people.

We stopped for breakfast on our way home to CO and from the moment we walked in to the moment we left, the energy, the atmosphere and the food was soulful. Andie was such a delight and her food is incredibly delicious! Don’t miss this stop 🙂
