I’ve seen done ridiculously bad reviews about this place. But I’m here to tell you don’t believe them. So, they don’t want you taking the AYCE sides home with you, order them To-Go, and pay extra for them. We were brought extra Biscuits for no charge. They were light fluffy and buttery. The Salad was Chopped Lettuce with a Light Dressing, that’s it. As long as you know that going in, you should be alright with it. The Chicken was so Hot and Crispy it tore up the roof of my mouth, but it was still AWESOME, in all honesty, you could break off a piece of skin and cut or kill someone with it. The Mashed Potatoes were really Creamy they don’t really need any Gravy, but that was good too. The Green Beans and Corn were great as well. Butter truly makes everything better. We had the Chocolate Meringue Pie and the Strawberry Shortcake they were Spectacular! They don’t have your typically regular sodas like Coke and Sprite, they’re made by a local company that uses Cane Sugar instead of High Fructose Corn Syrup. They have Diet Coke and of course they have Dr. Pepper, because well, it would be sacrilegious not to. Overall, it was an awesome experience, and I’ll go back soon.

As I was reading the reviews before going, I shook my head over people not managing to take pics of their food…until last night. I too have no photos of my delicious chicken fried steak, nor the beautifully juicy and yet so crispy fried chicken, or the catfish and definitely not of the smoked chicken.
The whole experience was very memorable. For starters, it’s not a quiet place. I wouldn’t come here for a first date personally, unless you don’t mind getting to know the other person by how much chicken are they willing to share. All the fixings were delicious (well, I didn’t have the beans, but that was personal) – mashed potatoes, biscuits, gravy, the CORN! the salad. But nothing can describe the best peach cobbler I ever had. You just have to come and enter heaven, because that’s what I did.
Make sure you go check out the double-decker in the back. Mind the fire ants!

Trey was our server he did an amazing job taking care of us…he treated us like family with such a great sense of humor. The FOOD was better than expected. Wishing we had a Babe’s in Alabama. This restaurant puts other fried chicken restaurants to shame lol. Please come east specifically to ALABAMA!! My recommendation- go for a visit-your STOMACH will thank you! Along with your wallet !

I found myself in a pinch with a last-minute birthday request for some banana pudding. This should have been easy, but after several early morning grocery visits, there was none to be found.
After an exhausting search, somehow Babe’s came to mind. Hadn’t we had banana pudding there? The website confirmed my suspicion, but with one day after ordering. I made the call, explained my predicament, and after a quick check with the baker, we salvaged the day and made the birthday boy so happy.
The service was kind, friendly, and done as stated. The whole process was very good.
The best part was the banana pudding—great presentation with the meringue topping, and the pudding was spot on.

If you are looking for gluten free options, this is the place to go. I ordered the smoked chicken, and it was to die for. Fried catfish is also gluten free. No eating the biscuits, gravy, or salad, but the other sides are GF.

We frequent the NRH Babes location and are frustrated by the inconsistency. The food is great, but service and policies seem to depend on which server you get. We often ask for a to-go gravy for our leftovers since the portions are large, and depending on the server, we may or may not receive one. If a container were provided, I would simply take what’s left from the table.
The main reason for this review is a to-go order we placed on 2/2/26 for an adult and child’s meal. When we got home, we realized we were missing salad dressing, butter, utensils, and other basic items usually provided. I called and spoke with Carlos, who told me he would refund the child’s meal for the inconvenience. As of today, I still have not recevied that refund.
The food is consistently good, but the lack of consistency with service and follow-through is frustrating. Double-check your to-go orders, and bring your own container if you don’t want to eat reheated chicken fried steak – dry.

We came in 20 minutes before closing, so that’s on us. Sides were good as well as the service. Strips were not crispy enough for me but I did forget to say extra crispy and they were bigger than what they usually are. Fish was good but could have been a little more crispier since we did ask for extra crispy. My guess is since we came so late they were trying to get us our food. Overall loves Babes and this is my favorite location since they offer fish and green beans is a side also have BBQ sauce for the strips!!!

I love Babe’s and as such decided to go there for my birthday, big letdown. Our waiter dropped the food and didn’t come back for ~30 minutes. By the time he did return we were out of sides, drinks, and patience. Even upon his return he didn’t offer any refills or dessert just a check and then disappeared again. I will give Babe’s another chance but it will be a while.

Love this place! Our second time here but our first time at this location. The decor is too cool! Service is amazing and food is even better! Absolutely love everything we’ve ever had here. Husband got the chicken fried steak and I got chicken strips. Sides are incredible and the biscuits melt in your mouth. Haven’t tried the desserts because we’ve always been too full. Will definitely be back here again and again!

Edit: The staff are AMAZING people! I got to talking with a handful of them at the entrance, and they were just golden they listen, engaged in the conversation, had good attitudes, and we’re all-in-all good people.
