Cozy neighborhood restaurant and bar that served me and my family one of the most delicious meals we’ve had anywhere.

Crossed the border into Windsor on a Friday afternoon for dinner with my family. The restaurant is located in a neighborhood so it might be difficult to find if you weren’t specifically looking for it. While the heavy snow fall on the day of our visit meant I couldn’t quite sort out if there was on-site parking at all, there was ample street parking so it wasn’t a point of stress.

The interior was warmly lit and lovely exposed brick and large windows. Our server and other staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and absolutely made us feel welcome.

All of that said, the food is the absolute star here. We each enjoyed a different dish which was incredibly flavorful and delicious. We started with cocktails (and a custom mocktail for my kids) and a seasonal butter and bread service. Entrees included lamb, salmon, pasta, and a scallops and pork dish, all of which blow well beyond those simple descriptions in terms of flavor. Even the salmon, which I find most restaurants struggle to get right, was perfect and had the thinnest caramelized crust that made every bite incredible. And so it was with every dish, these subtle surprising touches that made every bite so deeply enjoyable.

Sticky Toffee is also a must have for dessert.

I’m basically looking for an excuse to go back here as much as possible.

YUM. You can definitely tell this is farm to table, everything was so fresh and flavorful. My favorites were the pasta dish and bread. Pasta sauce was creamy and flavorful but should have been a bigger dish for the price. Pork belly and scallops dish was well-plated but not too flavorful, and I liked the sauce on the duck wings. Bonus for service, super fast and willing to help. You won’t be disappointed 🙂

Had an incredible dining experience at Gladstone Commons for my birthday dinner. For the duration of our time there the staff had a great attention to detail, providing a terrific atmosphere. We had the Wednesday Prix Fixe and everything was flavourful and delicious. Will be back!

We chose Gladstone Commons for our Anniversary dinner. Had read or heard all of the very positive experiences from so many others. What an amazing dining experience! We had already picked out a couple of menu items but were intrigued by the Two Hand Tuesday special. Decided to order and split the cheeseburger and the specialty sandwich which was a chicken with pickle.
Both tasted fabulous so we were so happy with the split. Fries and salad also excellent. Service was extremely professional and friendly. Gladstone Commons is a gem and we can’t wait to return. Get the Carrot cake for dessert!

Gladstone Commons was the highlight of our day in Windsor. Tucked into a Walkerville neighborhood, it has that busy open-kitchen energy while still feeling relaxed and friendly. The staff make you feel like a regular on your first visit, which is exactly what you want on date night.

Start with the bread and butter (4.5/5). The sourdough and seasonal whipped butter are reason enough to sit down.

The tuna tartare was the surprise standout (5/5). Citrus, cucumber, pickled onions, and tuna all play together so you get light, crisp, and rich in each bite rather than just a pile of fish. Great texture and balance.

Crispy duck wings (4/5) come in a generous portion, about four or five meaty wings. They are cooked perfectly (fall off the bone) and glazed in a lightly sweet barbecue with little brittle bits for crunch. I would have liked slightly less sauce so the duck could shine more, but they are still very easy to keep picking at.

The bistro chicken (4.5/5) feels like a “regulars” dish. The pearl onions and whipped cheese curd mash are ridiculously good, like a cross between aligot and poutine in the best way, with seasonal vegetables on top. The chicken is well cooked, but I kept coming back to the mash.

The GC cheeseburger (4/5) is another come-back order. It is just a really well done burger with great fries. No weird twists, just good meat, melted rruyere, and a pile of fries you keep reaching for. Next time I may ask for it a touch rarer.

We will absolutely be back. I was eyeing plates of lamb and other mains at nearby tables the whole night. Plenty of reasons to return.

This place has some really good food. Me and my partner got the prefix menu and we both enjoyed our dishes a lot. I sadly only have pictures of the main dishes as we ate everything else too quick haha.

We arrived with a party of 6. It was pretty quiet inside but not dead. Service was top notch and the food was spectacular. It felt high end but not stuffy. A great culinary experience which made for a wonderful evening. Can’t wait to come back and try their other items. Give this place a visit!

**A Memorable Culinary Experience in Windsor, Ontario**

From the moment I stepped into this charming restaurant, the atmosphere felt warm and inviting. It’s the kind of place where every detail is thoughtfully curated to make diners feel at home while indulging in an extraordinary dining experience.

The **cherry jalapeño margarita** was an absolute delight—a perfect blend of sweet, spicy, and refreshing that set the tone for the meal. Then came the food, and I truly mean this: it brought tears to my eyes. We started with the **heirloom beets and Burrata salad**, beautifully complemented by Curtis vinaigrette, shaved fennel, pine nuts, and a drizzle of hot honey. Every bite was an explosion of textures and flavors—the earthiness of the beets, the creaminess of Burrata, the crunch of pine nuts, and the sweet heat from the honey. I even think there were blood oranges in the mix, which added a lovely citrusy note. *10 out of 10!*

The main course was equally unforgettable. I wish I knew the name of the dish, but it was pork paired with **oyster mushrooms and greens**, all bathed in a luscious, sweet sauce that tied everything together perfectly. It was divine! We also had the **burger and fries**, and let me tell you—the burger was juicy and flavorful, and the fries were sheer perfection.

This restaurant has become my absolute favorite in Windsor, Ontario. I can’t wait to go back and explore more of the menu. *Make your reservation now—you won’t regret it *

I visited for the first time yesterday and had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and we were lucky to get a window seat. The GC staff truly stood out. They were incredibly attentive, professional, genuinely kind, and never arrogant. The way a server treats their guests makes all the difference, and they got it exactly right.

As for the food, I was pleasantly surprised by the two-can-dine option for $85, so we gave it a try. The warm olives with halloumi cheese appetizer was enjoyable, though I felt it could’ve used something extra to balance the richness- maybe some roasted red peppers, artichoke, or a bit of bruschetta on the side.

The Brussels sprout salad was a standout. It was bursting with flavor and easily the highlight of the evening. For the main course, I had the salmon, which was beautifully plated (honestly one of the prettiest presentations I’ve seen in a while.) You really do eat with your eyes first. The dish could have used a touch more salt, and perhaps a hint of garlic or cilantro to enhance the flavor, but overall it was still incredibly tasty. I would absolutely order it again.

The chocolate dessert was the perfect ending to the meal. It was elegant, delicious, and topped with a lovely “Happy Birthday” message written in chocolate.

All in all, I loved the experience and will definitely be returning.

P.S. I really admired the nod to Anthony Bourdain on the menu.

Main things to know: service is amazing. Staff are super attentive and the $2 oysters on Thursdays are delicious!!!

We ordered the oysters, octopus, burger and the fish and chips. None of the items we ordered were recommended by our server however we were not feeling super adventurous. I believe their menu items may change seasonally.
The octopus was alright. Edible but nothing super memorable. I wished it was a bit more charred. The fish and chips was nice as well as the fries. The burger was massive and really messy to eat! I would definitely come back for a drink and if the menu changes a bit but from what we ordered we weren’t blown away by the food.

The best thing about this place is how quickly the staff come around like you’re at a high end restaurant without the wait staff feeling too invasive or annoying. We always got new plates and cutlery and they quickly come around to collect our dirty dishes. At one point I dropped a piece of my cutlery and the staff quickly came by to pick it up! 10/10, good training and kudos to the team for their attentiveness and care.
