We had an amazing experience at El Fish Fritanga in Cancun. The fried fish was top of the line, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The drinks were amazing and complemented the food so well. Honestly, everything we tried was just great. If you are in Cancun, this place is absolutely worth a visit.

So we did a bit of research around Cancun (we stay at Westin vacation club) and found this gem after having a look at google reviews. The food was amazing, we ended up coming back twice in our 3 day trip. We had the govern tacos 10/10, then the stuff fish, fish Fritanga (fritanga means their spicy sauce) fiesta shrimps, and mixed ceviche. It’s very kid friendly they even have a small kids club! Overall very very good well priced and highly recommended.

The staff is amazingly kind and friendly, and the food is incredible! I don’t even normally enjoy fish, and I had the tempura shrimp tacos one day & my husband had the governor tacos. We went back a 2nd time before the trip was over for coconut & breaded shrimp. Must try the shrimp soup, too!!

We had a lovely dinner at El Fish with my wife, and it was a great experience. The ambiance was calm and romantic, perfect for a relaxed evening. The seafood was fresh and well prepared, and the flavors were excellent. The service was attentive without being intrusive, which made the dinner even more enjoyable. Overall, it was a memorable dining experience and a great place for a special evening.

A great experience here! From the front you really can’t tell there is much of a restaurant at all, but below is a beautiful lagoon-front restaurant. The food (especially calamari and shrimp tacos) were excellent. Portions were generous. They even treated us to a slice of cake because we were celebrating our engagement. Tremendous service from Benavides.

We dined at this place which was in the hotel zone. Everything is outside seating with a nice view of the water. We ordered the guacamole, elle octopus, the fried fish, the governor tacos, and the special for the day- Marlin tacos. The restaurant provides complimentary chips and salsa, which tasted very fresh! We ate all of this food shared between 3 adults and we still had some leftover. Our favorite was the fried fish, which came with a great onion and pepper dipping sauce. The fish was very crispy and we were able to pick between two catches of the day- grouper or snapper. The octopus was super tender and grilled well. The tacos were both very good- tasting very fresh. Overall it was a yummy meal. We were there celebrating my daughter’s Birthday and they brought a complimentary slice of cake and even played birthday music!

We’ve been coming to Cancún for my son’s birthday the last four years, and this place hit the spot. Total comfort food—we liked it so much we came back the next day.
Drinks are super reasonably priced compared to other spots, and they don’t skimp—they’re doubles.
Best part? They’ve got an air-conditioned kids playroom, so you can actually enjoy half your meal in peace. Huge win for everyone

Food, service and atmosphere all superb! I loved the vibe there. It’s perfect for family or date night with amazing food! Also the orange shrimp was not at all like we were expecting, my kid thought it was have an Asian zing, it didn’t BUT it was far better than what we thought it would be. Top dish!

we got breaded shrimp tacos, panko fish tacos, pinada (mocktail pina colada) and fish fillet fritanga. The shrimp in the taco was perfect cooked and season, easily the best tacos we’ve had during our weeklong stay in Cancun. The fish tacos were excellent as well. The fish fritanga came with a spicy sauce, which enhanced the well seasoned fish. The mocktail pina colada was to die for. Staff were super welcoming. Hands down the best food/restaurant in the hotel zone. Sadly we only discovered it on our last day here, I could easily see us eating here on a daily basis. Highly recommend.

We came here based on a locals suggestion from the jungle tour. We tried the burritos chicken and steak and we loved it! The salsa is amazing! We came back the next day and tried their tacos before we head back to the states. The tacos are fresh and the juice is good!
