If you haven’t gone here and you live nearby, what are you doing? Amazing how good the vibes are for a counter service place- go here for dinner with your friends! Go on a date! Really just absolutely exceptional food, service, and atmosphere.
The asada huarache had a thick made-in-house corn tortilla with grilled nopale (cactus) and a big whole piece of asada (steak)- nice hearty food on a cold day. Speaking of, the little hint of cinnamon in the atole de elote, a hot corn drink with milk kind of like hot chocolate if it were corn instead, was so cozy and I was delighted to find a cinnamon stick and corn pieces in the bottom of the cup.
I will be back for those soups. And again in the summer. Excellent.

The food here is absolutely delicious! We tried the Pozole and Sopa de Pollo, and both were incredible. The flavors were rich, perfectly seasoned, and served hot and fresh. You can tell the ingredients are high quality and prepared with care.
The service was warm and welcoming, with the staff making sure we felt right at home. Everything came out quickly, and the team was attentive without being intrusive.
The atmosphere is relaxed and authentic, making it a great spot to enjoy traditional Mexican comfort food. We’ve also been to their other location on Columbia Pike, and the quality is consistently excellent at both.
Highly recommend if you’re craving real Mexican flavors done right!

This place is amazing! I ordered the Torta Cubana and it was absolutely the bomb—packed with flavor, perfectly grilled, and super satisfying. We came as a group of 11 people, and the staff handled everything smoothly. The service was quick and friendly, and the place had a great vibe—clean, welcoming, and just the right kind of cozy.

Incredible Mexican food in Ballston! We had the crispy birria tacos, the carnitas tacos, a chicken quesadilla, and chips and guacamole. All were delicious with the crispy birria being a special standout. Great selection of soft drinks and friendly service. We will be back!

I had 4 tacos amazing! 3 de cabeza (beef head meat Highly recommend for those that never had it its like pot roast but without the potatoes/carrots/celery) & 1 of carnitas (shredded pork). Im Tejano from the Southwest of the US. Its hard to find good tacos in DC unless you make them yourself. This is my go to for tacos, been here 4 times so far. I dont recommend the cheese dip nor the menudo, its not bad but its a different take from the Southwest.
So if someone is to ask me where to get tacos around the DMV this place. there is 2 other locations i believe but I never been.

I’ve been to their other location across town a bunch and have always loved their food. I checked out the new location in Ballston and was impressed! I got the torta de milanesa de pollo and loved it!

Great spot for delicious and authentic tacos. The crispy birria taco is my fave, but I also love the al pastor and camaron tacos. Casual space inside, order at the counter and sit at a table with a number. Great as a late night spot too.
