Sapporo restaurant was the first Japanese restaurant to offer Teppanyaki and Sushi in Egypt back in the 90s, then closed for renovation in 2011 and now is back with a revamped space to offer daily fresh authentic sushi, teppanyaki and Japanese dishes, fueled by a live DJ performance and a buzzing bar.

As a Seasoned World Traveler, I can confidently say that Sapporo Japanese Restaurant in Cairo delivers an exceptional dining experience that rivals some of the best I’ve had around the globe. The quality of the food is outstanding, fresh, beautifully prepared, and full of authentic flavor. What truly elevated the experience was the impeccable service. Abdelrahman provided warm, attentive, and professional hospitality that made the entire visit memorable. Mohamed’s chef entertainment was both exceptional and skillful. He treated the hibachi like a stage, and the flames were his spotlight. He made the flames dance, and I was lucky enough to have a front-row seat. From start to finish, Sapporo exceeded expectations and is absolutely a must-visit for anyone craving top-tier Japanese cuisine in Cairo.

Very poor, the chow mein was a mess, and the service was very poor, if this is a Japanese restaurant, not at all like the service you experience when in Japan.
We ordered the American style meat eye, which smelled like blood and was hard to swallow, and the sushi was very bad, I rarely order to write a review, but the meal that night was just awful, so I’ll review it.
The service was also poor, we were two and did not remove the cutlery from the other two places, resulting in the table being very cramped and unable to place all the dishes, I ended up having to give up my own plate

Abdelrahman has been our waiter and he has been fantastic 😉 warmest welcome and attentive. I felt we were on good hands.
I ordered sour soup and he advised me that it would be a little too strong a spice for me and made it mild for me. I truly enjoyed 😉

Great sushi and good quality ingredients. Suitable for private events, business drivers, dates and friendly gatherings. We went in Ramadan so it wasn’t super crowded, and didn’t require reservations. I would think it would on normal days. Pricy but good quality foods. Lemon grass Brule is a hit or miss, but they do make their own ice cream, which is great. Available parking on premise.

We had a nice dinner at Sapporro. The fried chicken was really tasty – crispy and flavourful – but it could’ve used a dipping sauce to take it to the next level. The sushi was okay, fresh enough, but not the best I’ve had. That said, the atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant, and the service was warm and attentive throughout. We also enjoyed a lovely bottle of Egyptian Chardonnay, which was a pleasant surprise. Overall, a good experience with a few small areas for improvement.
