I took a chance on this place as I was driving by through town. I had a steak burrito dinner with an horchata. This is one of the only places I’ve been too that still serves chips and salsa when you dine in. Food was good and so was the service. This is a nice mom and pop restaurant. I want to try their birria tacos next time.

I’m so conflicted while writing my review, but we ordered the house torta and my goodness. The flavor was PHENOMENAL. First bite in and I was slapped with immense flavor. However, the reason for 3 stars is because the house torta was advertised as having THREE proteins (ham, al pastor and chorizo). For an $11 torta advertised to have 3 proteins, this torta was so thin. Every bite had more bread than meat or toppings. Of course the ham is thin so I totally get that part, but the al pastor and chorizo was almost nonexistent. I regret not taking a picture of the torta open (next time I will and edit this post to show). However, the bites where I DID get al pastor and chorizo oh my gosh the flavor was amazing. Overall, I’m honestly just disappointed that each torta was $11 and had basically only ham, the al pastor and chorizo almost felt like toppings that were sparingly served. I would go back for the flavor, but maybe on a day where I’m not too hungry and have $11 to spare on a small portion meal.

⚠️ BEWARE OF FRAUD ⚠️

I ordered a carne asada dinner and what I got was NOT skirt steak — it was some cheap bistec-style cut they tried to pass off as the real thing. I wouldn’t even be writing this review if the female owner hadn’t made a whole issue out of me returning an untouched platter. All I did was slice the meat down the middle to check it. She instantly snatched the plate from me and ran it to the back like she’d been caught.

Then the cook comes out showing me actual cooked and raw skirt steak — and I told him straight up: Yes, THAT is real skirt steak. Now show me what you served me.
And they froze.
No explanation. No honesty. Just a fake smile and a “Have a good day.”

And the wild part? I STILL tipped them.

This review isn’t coming from someone clueless — it’s coming from a 40-year professional chef. Someone who knows exactly what skirt steak looks like, tastes like, and costs.

Beware of the flip-a-roo.
If your “carne asada” shows up looking like a sad Salisbury steak, that’s your red flag.
Skirt steak has ridges, grain, and texture — not mystery-meat smoothness.

Save your money. Save your time. Don’t get scammed.

The quality of the service is spectacular. Also the food has a unique taste that only genuine time and preparation can account for. I enjoyed my time and would recommend my experience to anyone in the area looking to indulge in a delicious meal. Thanks again

It was my first time coming here. It’s been awhile since I write a review and boy this place is gonna get it. Order two tacos , chorizo and cecina with cilantro and onion. But Idk why they didn’t bother putting onion on the chorizo one and seemed to over put onion on the other one. Is that how sloppy the cook is. Anyways. The limes were so slim you couldn’t even squeeze nothing out. Like dang bro why skim me out on the lime . I give it up to the waitress she just memorized everything and didn’t write nothing down. Except to tell them to pu onions on my taco!!!! The chorizo one didn’t taste so good. I’ve tasted better. La Rosita chorizo is way better. The cecina one was alright. But the tortillas were soggy . When eating tacos you need to get them a lil bit harden. Seemed liked they put them inside the microwave. The ac works very well cause it was cold in there. You could tell the waitress was very cold too. Almost poked me.

The cheese fries were good I almost cried. The tacos healed my boyfriend’s back pain. The agua fresca tamarindo cleared my chakras and boosted my mana. Y’all have GOT to try this place.

A foot long burrito that’ll feed me all day… with an horchata and churro was 29$. Biggest burrito I’ve ever been given anywhere. Cali and Texas don’t have this size. Chicago is lucky to have this place here.

Food wasn’t that great. Waitress wasn’t really friendly but seem a bit awkward. Tamales here are not real authentic tamales. They were terrible. Will recommend family or friends to this restaurant.

We got takeout from this place for the first time. Quality was GREAT. You can tell they use fresh ingredients. Tried the chile rellenos and al pastor taco dinners. The al pastor tacos came with pineapple inside for a sweet/salty take. The chili rellenos tacos came dipped in egg batter with onion+cilantro. Beans and rice we’re tasty as always. The salsa was SO FRESH. We’ll definitely visit again!!
