Tierra Mia just opened in Oceanside, and I had to stop by to try it! I went through the drive-thru around 11:30 a.m. and received my order at 11:53. The line was pretty long which could be because they just opened but it’s something to keep in mind if you’re in a hurry.

I ordered a large horchata latte with cold foam, a strawberry tres leches cupcake, and a cheese pastry. Everything was delicious! The horchata latte had the perfect level of sweetness, and the pastries were fresh and warm.

Overall, it’s a great spot to grab a sweet treat and enjoy some flavorful coffee. Just make sure you give yourself a little extra time if there’s a line. I’ll definitely be back!

Honestly the best coffee place ever. The bad reviews are so forced, if you’ve ever been to a Tierra Mia outside of this one you know that their locations are always like this, the layout, and the building being right next to the road. It’s ALWAYS been like that any location you go to will be the same structure, so don’t complain about the traffic, I don’t see you guys complaining about traffic at a Starbucks. I really recommend getting the rice and
beans frap which is horchata with coffee beans and also the churro muffin, literally the best thing ever. Also don’t get me started with the prices I got 3 small fraps, 2 medium fraps, and a crossaint for $33, I think that’s a very reasonable price for the portions and the quality of the drinks. I really recommend and hope we get a new location more south.

I have now been to Tierra Mia twice (I was 4th in line at their grand opening). Both times my drinks and pastries were delicious! Does the drive thru situation suck? Definitely. But it’s expected with a new establishment that the community is excited about. I’ve gone inside both times and the line moves fairly quickly for how extremely busy it is. It’s been open 4 days. So give the extremely kind employees some grace. Although it’s not locally owned, it is privately owned so at least no franchise here. Ultimately I say give it a try at some point, even if you wait until the new excitement dies down a bit. I’ve seen some people say it’s overhyped but I feel that way about some popular franchises and even a couple locally owned shops that I’ve tried recently. They weren’t bad just not my cup of tea… or in this case coffee. Welcome to Oceanside Tierra Mia.

To start off yes the reviews regarding the traffic are spot on it is very busy and of course it would be because it’s their grand opening week and cars are in line out to the street.

To give a business a one star review because of the traffic is weird and not fair to the business. The employees are working hard and doing their best moving everyone as quickly they can.

My review is based on the store which I have to say the drinks and pastries are awesome! I knew I would be waiting and probably for a bit just like any other grand opening for any business that has a huge following already. The staff were amazing and I could see they were doing their best!

I can’t wait to come back again once the hype comes down a little and I can bring my whole family.

Oh where do I start…

First off, whoever approved the location clearly has never tried to in that area. The traffic design alone deserves its own one-star review. Nothing like sitting in unnecessary gridlock just to grab a “quick” coffee.

My wife and I decided to give the place a fair shot and ordered a few different drinks and food options so we could really sample the menu. Bold strategy. Unfortunately, everything landed solidly in the “meh” category. Not terrible… just aggressively average.

To be fair, the girls working outside were friendly and doing their best. You can tell they’re hustling. But it’s also painfully obvious that management didn’t quite think through the logistics. Long wait, scattered flow, and all that buildup for a drink that tastes like it came from a corporate focus group instead of a coffee bar.

Meanwhile, Mission Donut House is literally ten seconds down the road with better iced coffee and pastries — and without the traffic obstacle course.

Hopefully they’ll iron things out over time. Right now it feels like just another shiny corporate box dropped into Oceanside, nudging out the small businesses that actually know what they’re doing.

As of today? I Can’t recommend it. Maybe I’ll circle back in a month or two and see if the hype catches up to reality.

Location is convenient right off the freeway, parking lot is tight and full, inside the place is nice but a little loud. No giant menu to look at while you wait so everyone looks at the one small photo frame menu at the registers and order there so you can imagine how long is everybody taking which is not convenient and very time-consuming for customers. When i was paying register froze cashier rebooted the machine i had to pay again hoping i wasn’t double charged. MAYBE ill try them again hoping for a better experience.

Low rating because whoever decided to put this place at this specific spot needs to be fired. No consideration of the traffic that is now spewing and blocking the bike lane.

All the reviews blaming them for traffic are ridiculous. It’s not their fault. Stop unfairly ruining this business’s reviews.
