Connie’s Dinner is one of those hidden gems that makes you feel right at home the moment you walk through the door. I stopped in on a Monday and had their special, the meatloaf, and it was absolutely delicious—comfort food done right. What makes this place stand out even more is the fact that it’s cash only. In today’s world, that feels refreshingly old-school, and it matches perfectly with the down-to-earth vibe of the restaurant. The prices are almost shockingly low given the quality of the food, making it an unbeatable value. The staff is super friendly, warm, and attentive, and service was quick without feeling rushed. It really feels like the kind of food “mom would make”—hearty, simple, and made with care. If you’re looking for a great place to grab a meal that feels authentic and welcoming, Connie’s Dinner is it.

We were looking for a place to grab a soup & sandwich (BLT) on our way home from camping and found this place listing homemade soups! Our experience here was… interesting. If you’ve ever been in Ed Debevic’s in Chicago, I thought we were walking into the small town version of that, but nope it was real life. We walked in to this small little diner that was not busy, 2 tables & 1 other person at diner, and awkwardly, no one said a word to us. We seated ourselves at the diner stools, looked through the menu, and shortly the young waitress (wish we got her name, because she was excellent) asked if we were ready to order. She was very kind & attentive, and made & delivered excellent food – BLT, homemade clamchowder soup, coleslaw, and a large piece of cheesecake! There was a lot of bickering & grumbling going on behind the counter between the other 2 waitresses (1 being the owner), maybe this is normal for the locals, but it was a bit off-putting for when you’re just trying to chill and enjoy your lunch. Overall great food & our waitress was excellent.

Cute, tiny restaurant with a retro theme. Very clean & well kept. The staff was very friendly & attentive even though busy. I ordered my eggs “over medium” & they were perfectly cooked. Not fried on too high of heat turning edges brown & crisp.. I hate that! Also had piece homemade rhubarb pie ala mode, was delicious! Would definitely visit again on our way to Door County.

No longer Connie’s diner but now is Kimmer’s diner. Very charming little diner. Food is very good. Now serving breakfast on Thursday and Fridays. Will be trying that tomorrow.

In this local dinner is a caring staff that work in a “find an open seat” smallish room that houses 3 booths, 11 countertop stools, 2 tables for 2, a cooler and a grill in which the 3 servers all work at to fill your order.
I give the atmosphere 5 stars because all the folks that come in are locals are friendly.
I ordered the Fisherman’s platter which was good, (but don’t get the green beans) and a bowl of loaded chili. My wife and I split both and it was enough. Yum

We had the pleasure to meet Connie, and she was definitely a great person who is running her establishment very well. The food was delicious and fresh. The staff was very friendly and just very great people to talk to. If you are in this area, please make sure you stop here and visit this place if you are looking for comfort food.

Kept passing by this little place while visiting area and noticed a full parking lot. Decided to stop in for dinner. It’s a retro type of diner and very small. Luckily had two available seats at the counter. Quickly realized the actual owner was working that night as she was answering questions from two young female employees on a busy night. Our service and food were excellent but what we enjoyed most was seeing this woman help mentor her young staff. Based off a big hug one of them gave her after a bit of back & forth teasing, it’s clear they love and respect her and enjoy working there. We’ll be back!

If you liked your mom’s cooking this basically the same as going home….just without all the questions about when your gonna give your mom some grandkids

If you didn’t like your mom’s cooking…. probably wanna keep that to yourself and just head on over to Connie’s to see what you missed as a child

Good food at great prices. It’s like stepping back in time.
