Holloway’s Bar is an homage to Chicago’s rich history as the candy capital of the world. Since the late 1800s, the River North area in particular – has been a dynamic hub for the Windy City’s sweetest industry. A key member of this confectionary revolution was Milton J. Holloway, who was the original producer of a chocolate-covered caramel treat called a Milk Dud. Holloway’s serves light fare, sharing plates, cocktails and a great late-night happy hour. The menu includes salads, sides, and kids’ options.
Sleek getaway in a hotel crafting light fare, sharing plates & cocktails in a contemporary space.

Average hotel bar food, pretty quick service for as busy as they were, and they insisted on playing the loud music vs the football game. I will look for somewhere else the next time that I am in a pinch.

I sat down in the bar at 5:45 knowing I was early for the 6pm opening. I waited until 6, and watched another customer walk up to the bar and was immediately asked what would he like. Then another couple sat at the bar and again they were immediately asked what would they like. My first thought was WTH, why are they serving others knowing I was sitting at a table for now 20 minutes. I moved to the bar and had to ask do I have to sit here to get served. The bartender said no I’m just opening. Serious, you know I’ve been sitting here and take order from two other parties and tell me you are just opening. I’ve been a longtime loyal Marriott member and have never been so pissed over so little. I found myself angry as hell being treated in this manner. I’m disgusted and will also review with Marriott directly.

Service was top-notch. Love the jazz music in background, volume not high: nice. Limited menu, it is a hotel bar restaurant. Perfect if you are staying in the Residence Inn or Springfield Suites. Great burger and tots. Cocktails, nice wine selection. Robert Schuelke, Lead Bartender, was friendly and quick, and his choice in music.

I didn’t eat here because I’m in Chicago and there’s so much incredible food outside, but I will say that Jacob and Rob were incredible. Super friendly, helpful, and very attentive. I could ask them questions, and their suggestions were like golden eggs. I would 100% be back again and feel like I was meeting up with old friends.

Rob, the bartender, was amiable and efficient handling the crowd at the bar. I didn’t eat anything, but I enjoyed my old fashion cocktail. (I accidentally pressed 5 stars) for the food but was unable to reset them because I didn’t have any food at the bar.

Stopped in for a bite to eat and a few drinks with my mom before turning in for the night. The bartender matt was super attentive and suggested the prickly pear. They were so good that I ended up getting two. We also got the bbq sliders, grilled cheese sliders, cob salad and the Carmel cookie. Everything came out in a timely fashion and had so much flavor. Would definitely recommend.
