My favorite place for weekend drinks and eats. All the food is pretty tasty and the service is always great. The atmosphere has good vibes and the music isn’t too loud so you can actually come and converse with your friends. 10/10, Will always come back!!!

The pasta was so good and creamy, I absolutely loved the sauce, it was rich and full of flavor. The chicken wings were super juicy on the inside and perfectly crispy on the outside. The fries were also amazing, especially dipped in that delicious sauce. Everything tasted fresh and well-seasoned. Definitely a place I’d come back to!

Annandale is widely considered the culinary capital for Korean food in the DMV area and is densely packed with great Korean restaurants like this one. But Centerville competes with Annandale for who has the better Korean restaurants and Korean shopping centers (like H Mart and Lotte Plaza). Annandale is way closer to downtown DC though but peak hour traffic could be murder. The beef tartare (yukhoe) is a must-order and the best I’ve had. The KFC wings were excellent and pairs so well with makgeolli.

1943 has been our favorite weekend lounge. We like to come here to drink soju and beer(소맥) and enjoy kimchi pancake. This place has good atmosphere and comfortable seats. It is friendly for all different size parties. Each table has its own device to order food or drinks so you don’t have to wait for servers to come to your table. Your orders will come out pretty quick and you can also request check on this device. This place gets pretty busy on Saturday night but if you come out early (around 10pm) you most likely wont have to wait for your table. Enjoy!

I recently tried some Korean dishes at this bar, and it ended up being such a great experience. The food was delicious, full of flavor, and perfect for sharing over drinks. The place was super laid back and chill.
A special shoutout to the bartender, Yubi, who absolutely made the evening. She was super funny and so talented behind the bar. She even showed off some cool bartender tricks, which made the whole experience even more memorable!

Food tastes great, but that’s about where the pros end.
I’ve been here twice. The first time I came with a smaller group was a good experience. The second time I came with a larger group for a friend’s birthday. The first thing I noticed after sitting down was the drastic price increase. We’re not drinkers so I won’t comment on the drinks they serve. But $26.99 for army stew? It’s literally just ramen and spam. How is the shrimp fondue ($20.99) actually cheaper and the steak tartare is only a dollar more ($27.99)? Food tasted really good, especially the rose tteokbokki and steak tartare, but seriously overpriced in general.
The staff were friendly. They greeted us as soon as we walked in and helped us set up with our table. The place was clean and relatively quiet too since we came an hour after opening and left way before the drinking crowd came. But since the place was basically self-service, I didn’t understand the justification for charging us a required gratuity. We ordered everything on the tablet, nobody came to check up on us throughout the time we were there, we didn’t even get any water refills aside from the two jugs the staff gave us initially. The only time we interacted with the staff was when we arrived, when they brought us our food, and when we paid the check. Not saying it’s the staff’s fault or they were bad, and I’m okay with paying a 20% required gratuity at restaurants for a party of 6, but only when services are provided. At least they didn’t calculate the tip amount using the post-tax total like some other restaurants do. (Service style is similar to Nando’s: self-service, except at Nando’s tip isn’t required).
Overall, most likely wouldn’t return. Korean food in Annandale has become so overpriced recently for little to no justification on why the price is the way it is. Which is sad to see.

The food is perfect, the portions are so filling and there isn’t a bad item on the menu. As soon as you walk in the atmosphere is amazing, great vibes and great music. The photo booth is a fun addition too. Every server is polite and food comes out incredibly fast. There’s no way you won’t have fun here.

Perfect late-night spot! Their army stew is absolutely delicious – hearty, flavorful, and just the right comfort food after a long day. I really appreciate that they stay open late, which makes it a lifesaver for people like me getting off work late. The portions are generous, the food comes out hot, and it always hits the spot. Definitely one of the best to-go places in the area for night owls and late-shift workers.

I absolutely love coming to 1943 in Annandale! From the moment you walk in, the service is amazing the servers are incredibly kind and attentive, and even the management makes you feel welcomed and appreciated. You can really tell they care about their guests’ experience.
The truffle pasta is SO good it’s a must every time I come. It’s rich, flavorful, and perfectly made. And I always have to order their fruit because it’s consistently so fresh and refreshing. It’s rare to find a place that keeps that level of quality every single visit.
My friends and I always enjoy coming here for great food, and sometimes for drinks too. It’s such a good spot to relax, catch up, and enjoy a really solid meal. I definitely recommend checking it out you won’t be disappointed!
