I came here when I was younger (8 years ago) and the restaurant was owned by a family friend when the thai food was actually authentic and they served more unique dishes like Nam Kao .Ever since they changed owners in my opinion the quality and taste have gone downhill. My Server was attentive for the most part, Service and the Seafood Rad Na highlights this whole experience . The sticky rice was undercooked had a funky smell to it . For the price that you guys charge I expect the rice to be fully cooked . The Mango salad and Papaya salad… DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME on those two dishes they are not spicy. It’s definitely not Lao style and not appetizing. Both salads were left barely touched at the table. If you like authentic thai food skip this place. (this place used to be Smile Lao Thai).

This is my favorite thai restaurant in AZ. I order doordash all the time and the food is always delicious, hot, and the portions are huge. Their pad thai is the best, usually order the chicken pad thai and it comes with fried tofu as well. I’ve tried other thai restaurants but none is as good as Smile Thai

Great authentic Thai food especially if you like spicy hot. I love peppers but even level 6 hotness was extreme. Love their noodle dishes and currys. A++ overall very authentic Thai food and the hospitality is excellent. Lots of vegetarian options. The atmosphere can be formal for a business meeting, a family gathering or a romantic date. Prices were reasonable.

**UPDATE** 2/15/25: yep, still awesome! Arrived this Saturday around 4:30 to an empty restaurant. It slowly filled up, but never got crowded while we were there. We ordered a few different menu items (drunken noodles w/ beef, garlic w/ beef, & the summer rolls), along with our standard orders from any Thai restaurant (Thai tea, sticky rice, crab wontons).
Same as our last visit, our server was superior but again I failed to get his name. He was a younger gentleman, extremely pleasant, smiling, and very friendly.
11/16/24 – everything about Smile Thai was spot on. This particular Saturday early evening we arrived around 4:00 to an empty restaurant. We were seated immediately and were able to enjoy some of their interior design. Loved all of it.
It is part of a strip mall which means there is ample parking. There is a very small patio, maybe two, two-chair tables. It is not a large place but its interior is put together well so can accommodate quite a few people, I imagine.
I failed to ask our server for his name, but he was exceptionally polite and checked in on us frequently, typically within a few minutes of delivering each plated item.
We had the entire place to ourselves, but they did have a pretty hefty call-in and pick up action.
The food? The bomb! The Thai tea was perfect, crab wontons hot and crisp, edamame well salted, hot & sour soup hot & sour, and Thai toast also crispy — and plentiful on all of it. My only critique on the soup would be to have smaller chunks of tomatoes.
We can never eat at a Thai restaurant without enjoying sticky rice for dessert. The server, however, saw us boxing up our meals to take home and brought over the check. We both laughed and said, “Oh no, we ARE getting dessert.” He laughed with us and took our rice orders, one with mango and one with custard. Both were plated well with more mango and custard than many of the other places we have eaten.
We will definitely eat at Smile Thai again, and whole heartedly suggest to anyone who asks that they try it, too.

We dined in, but it seems they might do more take out business because they were not very busy at 1:30 on Monday afternoon.
The service was fast, and the food was tasty. We had the BBQ Chicken and Green Curry with Chicken. I also had a delicious dairy free mango smoothie.

Food & service were great! We’re vegetarian & they had many options to choose from! We ordered Pad Thai & Thai Fried Rice. Pad Thai had more flavor than the fried rice but both were good. They have spice levels from 1-5 & we ordered #3. It was too spicy for both of us so just be careful !

Smile Thai was a wonderful experience. The service was great with very friendly and attentive servers. Our food was very good. I’m not a curry expert, but I do know I love curry and this green curry was stellar. We also enjoyed the satay chicken for an appetizer and mango sticky rice for dessert!

Went here on a Friday afternoon. Had the restaurant to ourselves until another couple came in a little later. The service continued to be prompt. I was so impressed with the service and food. We received a small soup before our meal which was delicious. We also received small ice creams after our meal. So basically an app and dessert were included in meal. The food was so good it was hard to stop eating. Their prices were great. I would be going here all the time if I lived closer but will probably make a trip back again just to go here again.

We tried this place for dinner one night. A small restaurant in a strip mall. We were greeted right away and seated. The server got our drink order. We ordered the Fresh Rolls as appetizer and very tasty. I ordered the Spicy Fried Rice with Chicken and my partner ordered the Panang Curry with Chicken. Both dishes were very delicious. The service was fantastic. The restaurant was clean as were the restrooms. Cannot wait to return.
