Well now I didn’t know there was a black bear diner in St.Charles shame on me. The food was delicious as always and our waiter Nick was very attentive. I asked Nick about the cinnamon French toast and he recommended it. It was very tasty too.
Definitely recommend this restaurant for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

I use to go to Black Bear Diner when I lived to the west and loved it. This location was no different. Went with a buddy this morning and we had a short wait for a table, because other people know what’s up as well. Once we were seated our waitress was attentive and kind. She made sure we got what we wanted and also thatwe had room to chat and catch up.
I got the SCRAMBOWL. It was big and delicious. Flavors popped. Texture and mouth feel was just right. The temp was hot enough to melt cheese but not give my mouth 2nd degree burns. The slight spiciness of the jalapeños was great. Overall I really enjoyed my 1st experience at the St Charles Black Bear Diner. I hope to return and try more things.

I was engaged in conversation and enjoying my food, so I only got a picture of my to go portion. HOWEVER, I would like to say that the to go container was a pleasant surprise. I was thankful that it was good quality and NOT styrofoam. Styrofoam containers make me sad and affect the quality of my leftovers.

First-time patron and the experience was positively stellar. The staff were friendly and accommodating and the food was amazing. I ordered a breakfast meal and it arrived fresh and hot, while the bearclaw arrived just after I finished the meal. Delicious. I don’t live in the area, but I’m willing to make the trip down to stop by again in the future.

Black bear diner is a great place to eat. lots of choices on the menu. Can’t wait to go back and try a couple items, especially the all you can eat fried fish. When we went, it was very slow service, but the waitress explained to us that there was new people training in the kitchen. Very friendly service. I will definitely be back.

This was our second visit in a week. We came for lunch earlier and had great food and service, so we decided to come back today for breakfast. We requested Nick again because he was an awesome waiter. The sweet cream pancakes were fantastic, and the portions were huge. Everything was great.

Great breakfasts and reasonably priced! Service is good when they are not busy but it gets slow when they are crowded, which is understandable. They over cooked my eggs, which were supposed to be over easy and it was well done. They corrected it by bringing me fresh new eggs so all is well.

Nice portion size breakfast 2 sausages 2 beacon slices. Potato hashbrowns. 2 scrambled eggs with cheese and 1 Bisquit with small side of gravy. Let’s just say your arm may get tired from adding salt and pepper and hot sauce to add flavor to this visual appealing, but (very) bland tasting breakfast for $20. Waffle house is better.

As someone who does food challenges, I typically order two meals when we go out. I ordered the grizzly breakfast and replaced the pancakes with biscuits and gravy. I was going to order a sode of biscuits and gravy but absolutely glad I didn’t. The biscuits were the size of my coffee cup. I dont know how I’d never heard about them before but they may be my favorite breakfast ever.

This was a very unique place really cute with a lot of cool decorations of Bear carvings and posters. The food was terrific, and the service was great. Our server was very friendly , welcoming, and attentive. There are very many stores in this chain. All the way from Illinois to California. Sadly, there are none in the east, and I hope they make their way to New York soon.
