I was in the area and it was recommended I try out Miss Shirley’s. Totally seems like a local institution. Parking in the neighborhoods. Short wait for seating on a holiday Friday. Large number of seating rooms but plenty of people. Had B-more breakfast bowl which was an awesome combination of lightly cooked vegetables, and since I eat plant-based I didn’t add any protein. I also ordered a side of shredded potatoes and onion hash browns which was a great combination. My wife had the coconut cream stuffed french toast which I tried and it was amazing both in presentation and taste. Value is a little pricey but worth it for an institution. Menu has such variety.

Great local brunch place with great mimosa

I went there with my friends on Saturday around noon. It was packed but it took less than 15 min for the wait to get seated.

I ordered the Baltimore Bowl which was really good. It was very filling. My friends had pancake with banana and chicken & waffle. They were both good.

I would like to try mimosa next time. They seem to have a variety of drinks

Parking is difficult unless you park somewhere residential area nearby.

Had a great breakfast! Service was great, always checking on is and refilling our drinks. Highly recommend the deviled eggs, and loved the gluten free options! Rare to find good gluten free pancakes but they had them!

Excellent southern food close to home! The fried chicken was crispy, moist and slightly sweet, over a bed of perfectly cooked grits full of flavor. The biscuits were slightly spicy with a cheesy flavor and a perfectly baked texture. The collard greens were tender and had no bitterness to them.
The buttermilk pancakes were perfectly cooked and had a slightly sweet flavor which was complimented by toppings to make it your favorite dish anywhere. The portions are big enough to satisfy your appetite or to give you something yummy for enjoying at home later!
We’ll definitely be coming back!

For all the hoopla about this place from locals I found it to be just a hype. I had the blackened salmon with grits on top of fried green tomatoes. The salmon was overcooked and had a sprinkle of blackened seasoning but the rest of it was bland. You can see that from the picture.

The fried green tomatoes, which I was the most excited about, were cooked and breaded very well however the flavor lacked, it’s like they forgot to add seasonings to the batter.

I ordered to go because the wait was astronomical. However the organization of the take out order and pick up window was horrendous. The wait to order took 25min and we were 3rd in line.

However my friend was satisfied with hers more than I was. She had pumpkin french toast and fried chicken.

Lastly, I didn’t feel like the price was equitable to my order and service experience.

You would think paying more for something it would be better. Not in this case. First off I walk inside to place a Carryout order they say no you gotta go outside to the window to place your order and pick it up. They have some young girl who doesn’t really know how to work the register had to run back twice just to ask questions. I start the order with an everything bagel she doesn’t tell me till the end that they only serve plain. You only get one egg and they don’t even have regular sausage or mayonnaise. $15 for breakfast sandwich and this kind of service does not add up. Never again. Never mind I went to eat it after writing this review and it was cold. Grant it review took 5-10 minutes. I got a refund with no problems no harm no foul, right

Amazing food and service! I love this location. It’s so much easier to park than the other one and we didn’t have to wait. Granted, it was on a Tuesday midday, but still there was space for us. The manager and server were super nice. I can’t eat gluten and the manager came over to make sure he understood how severe my allergy was so he could tell the kitchen. It was very thoughtful and I appreciate it. They have a really well labeled menu in terms of allergens as well. Out of all of the gluten-free pancakes I’ve had in Baltimore, these are some of the best! My friend got the cheese and tomato sandwich and really enjoyed it.

We decided to visit this establishment due to its reputation for pancakes, and we were certainly not disappointed. The berry crunch pancakes we sampled were truly delightful. My husband also enjoyed the banana French toast he ordered. The service was prompt, and the restaurant was very clean.

Excellent food, highly recommend hot honey fried chicken devil eggs and coconut french toast! This place does get busy on the weekends so be prepared to wait 15-20mins. Once you sit down, the service was great!

My first time at Miss Shirley’s with my daughter’s for a Valentine’s Day Breakfast and we LOVED it! When we were seated, I noticed that my daughter was given a book to read while there, in addition the kids menu, which I think was a very good idea. Vivian (I think) was our waitress and she was very friend;y and helpful. I loved the way the children’s food was plated, in a bento box style. My oldest daughter had the red velvet french toast, which she enjoyed, my youngest daughter got the Belgian waffles, and I got eggs, turkey sausage, hash browns, and a biscuit. Everything was delicious! The mimosa was good and I enjoyed the coffee. Definitely will be back.
