We have been coming to Golden Corral for years, ever since this location first opened. Over the years, there were times when the steak was actually good, which is why we continued to come back.
However, during our recent visits, the steak quality has clearly declined. Today (Saturday around 4 PM) was the breaking point.
The steaks are not self-serve — they are handed to customers directly by the grill staff. The employees stay by the grill and place the steak onto your plate. However, instead of cooking steaks properly to order, they were grilling them in batches and piling them up nearby. This seriously affects the texture and flavor.
The first steak I received was extremely tough and almost impossible to chew. When I went back and specifically asked for something not overcooked, I was given a piece that looked barely grilled. There was no proper sear, no real crust, and the inside was unevenly cooked. It honestly didn’t feel like a freshly prepared steak at all — it felt careless.
I understand this is a buffet and not a high-end steakhouse. We are not expecting steakhouse quality. But this level of inconsistency and preparation really cannot be called steak.
On top of that, the grill staff’s attitude was disappointing. The employee appeared visibly irritated and unfriendly, which made the experience even more uncomfortable.
We used to enjoy coming here occasionally, but the recent drop in quality is hard to ignore. Today’s visit left us very disappointed.
Again, we don’t expect steakhouse quality, but we do expect basic standards and respect for customers.

This was me and my sisters first time here and let me tell you it was SO bad. OK we walk in lady at entrance was great. We were told to seat ourselves but every table was stacked with plates and trash as well as the floor no one in sight for cleaning at all so we cleaned our own table and the seats and cleaned around our table the floor. We seated and went to get a plate. We came back ate the plate and still no one was cleaning but also we hadn’t seen the server so I went up to the front and asked if we were supposed to get our sodas at the entrance and the lady told us no your server will be over soon. 30 minutes go by no one cleaning and no server so I went back to the entrance and asked if she can get me the drinks because there wasnt a server so she did. 20 minutes go by and finally a woman with a cart starts cleaning the tables but was so angry she was slamming stuff and cursing the whole time than looked at us and asked if we needed drinks and I told her No we got some from the entrance lady. We went to get another plate and 20 m9re minutes go by and the server is sitting at a table chatting and on her phone I finished my plate and went to ask another server if I can just get my own drinks and he went to get it for us and he did. I usually go to the one in Waukesha and especially for the banana pudding but that also was a disaster its like they ran out of cookies to make it so there was a big pan of watery pudding and maybe 2 cookies I couldn’t believe what I was viewing and than I look up and staff was eating as well. I did speak with management and he did issue a refund and fave us 2 dinner coupons in which we asked if it could be used at the Waukesha location and he said no but my sister said we will use the coupons to try this place 1 more time but I am very hesitant. Seeing g the reviews I think I am just going to go back to Waukesha because at least I can get my real banana pudding.

It was pretty ok. We usually do the lunch or dinner buffet anytime we decide to go the buffet….but today we came for the breakfast buffet and it was pretty decent. Food was hot and fresh. But like everything else the price for dining out has gone up soo much. But anywho….me and my daughter enjoyed our morning out.

Well I love the popcorn shrimp. All the food I ate was delicious. Hates off to the chefs for cooking such a wide variety of food. The service was awesome our waitress was talkative and flattering. And the customers were friendly. It was a good time and good food. Go there and be surprised

We had a group of 13 people to celebrate my birthday. It was only a ten minute wait at 2PM on a Saturday. Then, the server was very attentive and gave us drinks when we needed them. The food tasted delicious, and they had many options to choose from! The only downside was that some of the food was dried out or left out for too long. Also, it’s quite expensive. Just for one adult, it’s $18.50 for lunch/dinner buffet. Anyways… Nice job, Golden Coral!

I have to say that I had an amazing time I came in with my whole entire family. The cooks was fabulous. Everything was fresh and I didn’t have to wait in line too long. Tom and George, I believe are the owners they was on point the manager she Just outdid herself, I give her 100% on management the lady that works in the bakery. She is phenomenal. Don’t know her name, though you can see her in the back working hard in the young lady server. Jamaica was A great server I couldn’t ask for anything better. She treated me as if she knew me forever. Anything I wanted she was right there on time. This golden row I will come to over and over again.

The pork steak burnt black. Cheeseburger buns burnt black. No taste meatloaf. Didn’t dare eat the chicken. The only thing good was the red patatoes. The cakes and pies were dried out probably from 2 days ago. This place was nasty when it first opened and still is. Never come back here even if its free

I was there for dinner. Unfortunately, the taste of many of the dishes was not good, and the desserts were not fresh. In addition, many of the plates appeared dirty and did not look clean.
One suggestion would be to provide plastic gloves for guests who would like to use them when serving themselves. Since many people touch the shared serving utensils, this would help improve hygiene and show care for customers. I’ve seen many buffets do this to better protect their guests.

Food okay for some of the buffet. No flavor or burnt flavor for some. Low quality products for alot of the foods. Quite expensive for quality of food and service. Might as well go to a nice restaurant and eat good quality meal for same price.

Helmi pisses me off! NOBODY can cook every steak the exact same every time. Different steaks. Different days. You could have cubed all 3, mixed them up, and you couldn’t tell which piece went to which steak! I’m so jealous of this man’s inate ability! I look forward to my next trip!
