Okay, if you live near here, or are just traveling through this beautiful area, please do yourself a favor and try this place out! You could go to any big city in the U.S. and not find a better Nicaraguan restaurant, and here in the middle of rural Wisconsin, lies this gem. I was shocked to see it show up on my google search of restaurants in the area, as you will find plenty of good taquerias in small towns around this area, I’m sure this is the only Nicaraguan restaurant in a town even close to this small. I got the sampler platter so that I could try some of everything and have leftovers to take home to my wife. Every single thing on the plate was perfect, as was my interesting cacao milk. The place is spotless, which I know is always a concern for people when it comes to small restaurants. I own a restaurant and always visually inspect places when I enter, and this place is clean top to bottom. The food is fresh and delicious, and the portions were very generous for a fair price. Please give them a shot, I am sure you’ll love it!

This is a family restaurant with a great focus on customer service and is decorated great for representing Nicaraguan food. I got house specialty steak dinner, which was good, but not great. I think I would need to try other things.
However, their billing system blindsided me with a larger than expected total because they added a sizeable tip automatically without letting me know. If you don’t catch it, you can end up really paying out because there’s space to tip more. That’s real my only concern. I have seen this in city restaurants when dealing with large groups, but I was a party of one. That’s not a good system.

First time visit: Amazing food! Drove out from Portage to go to Wildcat Mtn State Park and stopped for lunch. We split the Maduro Con Queso appetizer, Chanko Con Yuca entree, and Pio V dessert. Highly recommended!

Dinner experience was wonderful. The drinks were delicious, all hand made! Fish ceviche was delicious and fresh. Steak was super tender and flavorful. We had 8 people in our group and the food was so good and hot! Everyone loved their meal. Our service was outstanding, they went above and beyond to make our evening special.
