From the warm welcome to the laid-back beachfront ambience, everything felt thoughtfully put together, creating a space that’s both relaxing and vibrant. Soul Beach Colombo is a really nice place to relax, unwind, and enjoy the beach vibes. The location is beautiful with plenty of open space right on the beach, making it perfect for a chill evening or a casual hangout. There are also some great photo spots around the area where you can capture stunning moments with your friends.
We brought our own bottles from outside (they don’t allow beers), and the staff were very friendly and flexible about it. The service was excellent — they regularly checked on our table to make sure everything was okay, which made the experience even more comfortable.
The food was absolutely delicious and came in generous portions. Prices are on the higher side — our dine-in for two cost quite a bit — but the taste and quality definitely made it worth it.
The only thing that could have been better was the music. The DJ was playing from inside the marquee, and it wasn’t very lively or engaging for the crowd.
Parking is available along Marine Drive, and it’s usually easy to find a spot unless you go during busy times like Friday or Saturday evenings. Overall, Soul Beach offers a beautiful atmosphere, great food, and a relaxing beach experience — perfect for a peaceful evening out.

We visited Soul Beach Hotel on our 6-month anniversary, and it was such a great choice. The atmosphere was relaxed, beautiful, and perfect for a special day. A big shoutout to Decon , who served us — super friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome from start to finish. The food and drinks were excellent, and the overall vibe made the experience memorable. Definitely a place we’d love to come back to.

Coming from Mauritius, we are used to island hospitality, but the experience at Soul Beach Colombo was truly on another level. This place deserves a full 5 stars, not just for the stunning atmosphere, but for the incredible food and people.
The food here is unbelievable. Executive Chef Thushan Daminda is clearly a master of his craft. We specifically requested our food to be spicy, and the kitchen nailed it—they mastered the heat perfectly without losing the flavor or the quality of the ingredients. The Chef even took the time to come out and welcome us, which was a lovely touch. He recommended the Fish with Green Chilli, and we were so glad we listened! The presentation was beautiful, and the taste was simply out of this world.
I also have to give a massive shout-out to our server, Assantha. He is easily one of the best servers we encountered during our entire stay in Sri Lanka. His English was perfect, he was fast, and his knowledge of the food was impressive. We wanted to experience the “real” taste of Sri Lanka, and he recommended the Negombo Shrimp, which was absolutely amazing.
What impressed us most was the willingness to go the extra mile. We asked for garlic rice (which wasn’t even on the menu), and Assantha made it happen without hesitation. Every request was met with a smile.
If you are in Colombo, you have to go here. The service is top-notch, the display and taste of the food will surprise you, and the team makes you feel like royalty. Highly recommended!

Food was tasty and portions were generous.
The buffalo wings with blue cheese dip is highly recommended and so is the fish and chips with crispy light batter. Bok Choy with Shitake mushrooms were really good.
There were Cabanas if you wanted a bit of privacy. We had a very pleasant and enjoyable experience.
