Their sandwiches here are fantastic. From the bread to the quality meats. These people can definitely make a sandwich. Staff is always friendly when I go in. And they are always keeping busy, either cleaning or cooking or tending to us customers. I do think the Sitting area is much to be admired. But overall a great place to get some lunch.

Over the years I have had richards many times. I have tried many different things on the menu. They bring great service and quick food. Most of the time I am eating richards on my lunch break and I am just happy to eat something. The food doesn’t stand out, in my opinion. Being in Western mass people are limited to great food options. The food is OK but VERY consistent and affordable.

Tried it twice. First time my friend delivered it, tasted quite well but there was way too little toppings and too much bread, breat tastes very very cheap.
2nd attempt I went myself, even less toppings, but this time something tasted very spoiled, I was extremely hungry so I still ate the whole thing, hopefully it was a veggie or something so I dont get sick … Also lady taking my $50 bill looked at it for like 5 legit minutes, so I felt really wierd about her treating me like a low life, I work hard and have work clothes.

Stopped in for my first grinder (I’ve always called the subs) and was not disappointed. Really good and tasty and a nice size sandwich for lunch.

First timer here. Everyone has told me this is the greatest place for a grinder in western mass. Coming from a a guy who grew up 5 minutes from Franklin Avenue in Hartford, I was extremely disappointed.
The staff was amazingly friendly and grinders were made really quick! The person who took my order suggested the meatball was a popular choice.
I got chicken cutlet with sauce and cheese. At first glance they hadn’t offered to heat the grinder up to melt the cheese and warm the bread. I said to myself “must be an oversight.” I open the sandwich looking to see how they made their chicken cutlets and I was blown away to the fact they use commercial frozen chicken cutlet patties found at restaurant depot.
Needless to say, for an established grinder shop that prides itself for being around for decades, and having a very large customer base, I can’t recommend Richard’s to anyone looking for an authentic grinder experience. This place is good for a quick bite to eat when your pressed for time and money.

Best rueben in Western Mass. Great take out place for grinders and pasta, though there is one lady who works there that kept commenting on how much food I ordered and chose to consume. It made me really uncomfortable.
I eat there a lot, almost every other Thursday. This lady doesn’t typically work the times that I go, but she was working tonight. If you have an ED or sensitivity, I suggest maybe just being aware.

Twice a year I fly across the country for meetings in Westfield and we usually have Richard’s Grinders for a catered lunch and after every meeting they ask if we want something different next time and everybody says that they are very happy with Richard’s. I love the tuna wrap and the pasta salad is one of my favorites that I have ever had!
