Straight from the Valentine’s Day menu, I ordered the blood orange cosmo drink, which was essentially a vodka and champagne mix with fruity flavor, and it worked very well for my taste buds. My partner got the lump crab croquettes and we enjoyed it a lot because the béarnaise sauce and the asparagus emulsion provided two layers of flavors, and both worked very well with the croquettes. The escargots didn’t really have much of a taste, so it was mainly the texture that carried the dish while the butter à la bourguignonne, which really is just garlic butter, provided some flavor. The beet salad had good taste because of the candied walnuts, the vinaigrette, goat cheese, and the apples, but the beets were a bit too chewy and personally I would have preferred it to be a bit softer (boil it first), but that’s just a personal preference as the dish was still great. For the French onion soup, the gruyere cheese on the top that made it look overflowing was visually appealing. There wasn’t really a highlight in terms of its taste, though. The croque monsieur, which is really just ham and cheese sandwich, tasted good in the most classic way, and the gruyere cheese helped. Finally, the crème brûlée was made pretty well, with the burnt candy on top not too hard to break and the mixture containing good taste with toasted hazelnuts providing an extra layer of flavor and texture to the dessert.
Eve did a great job serving us that evening as well! She was attentive to our needs and ensure checking on us when we needed her. Overall this is a good spot for a date. Not every dish was perfect, but most of them were and I think this is a spot worth going back to.
I highly recommend Chloe for any special occasion or just a fantastic night out!
Great ambiance. Solid for date night.
Baron Bleu Burger was their juicy lucy. The patty was stuffed with delicious cheese but the quality of the meat should’ve been better.
Truffle fries were good but should’ve had stronger truffle seasoning.
I ordered the grapefruit hugo drink and it was really great and refreshing. There were many drinks on the menu that looked great. My husband got a CBD sparkling drink and he also enjoyed his.
We started with the lyonnaise salad and they split it for us to eat. The dressing ended up only on my husbands salad and even so, it was very bland. We normally love this salad, so disappointing. The oysters were small and we did not know where they were from. Happy hour special was 6 for $18, so I didn’t think these were worth it.
I got the beef bourguignon. Beef, mushrooms, potatoes and onions were all pretty good. But the dish had more than 50% of it being the cooked greens, which were seaweed-like, slimy and fishy. It ruined the overall flavor and I had to pick around it.
My husband got the rocky burger off the happy hour menu with a gluten free bun and it was good. Smash burger-like, messy but still good. He also got the HH mussels and it was barely drizzled with a broth, but otherwise had no flavor. He only had 5 or so and gave up. The woman next to us had the full appetizer and it was almost soup with the broth. This made us believe that the delivery of their food was very inconsistent and not being checked for quality before going out.
We think of ourselves as creme brulee snobs and this one missed the mark. It had hazelnuts on top (that you could not scrape off) with lemon-cardamom flavor in the batter. It was pretty off and the hazelnuts took over the flavor. Didn’t finish (I know, right?).
It was busy by the time we left at 7. Our bill was $150 for the two of us, even ordering off the happy hour menu for a few items. Won’t be coming back. Highlights were drinks, good location and fun atmosphere. Food and service totally missed.
Shout out to Esther and Abby who helped me with my request for a romulan ale to troll my Star Trek loving husband. Thank you both so much!
