Ding’s Kitchen took over Jumbo Seafood, still offer similar things, such as dim sum and an authentic Chinese menu.
The offerings seemed more authentic, and definitely targeted more toward traditional Chinese patrons. For example, one of the soup offering as signature item is an chicken and pig intestines stew.
Overall, food was decent, and authentic.
Some of the misses: pam fries pork dumplings. Meat filling was very little, and skin was thick. Flavor was ok, but just not worth the price.
We ordered rice, but they never sent them. The waitress was very nice and friendly, so service was not an issue.
I would return for the more ‘traditional’ offerings.

Food was pretty average overall, and the only standout for me was the deep fried milk appetizer. Oddly, the fried milk was served after the cauliflower and roasted duck dishes. The restaurant was uncomfortably hot inside when I visited around 3 pm, even though only two other tables were eating hot pot. The furniture and dinnerware also felt cheap. On top of that, the front desk didn’t even say goodbye when we left, as she was too busy playing on her phone. Overall, I expected a much better dining experience.

I came here with my family and got to try a lot of things! Most dishes were above average. The salt and pepper calamari was particularly good, so we would definitely try more salt and pepper dishes next time. The Sichuan boiled fish fillet was also good.
The lobster with vermicelli was pretty tasty, but we would want to try the ginger scallion lobster next time for the bolder flavors. We were also sitting next to the lobster/fish tank, and it didn’t seem that clean..
The dungeness crab with sticky rice was quite bland, unfortunately. The shrimp with snow peas was decent but nothing special.
Overall we would probably choose items that have stronger flavors next time. The menu is huge, so there’s a lot left to try!

Was looking forward to trying crab dish but was told you have to pre-order.
Had couple dim sum dishes which were decent.
Chinese watercress – overgrown watercress and not fresh
Clam in black bean sauce $28.95 was flavorful but very salty
Kung pao chicken $18.95 just salty
Jumbo shrimp with sichuan chili sauce $23.95 perfectly fried with just right amount of mala flavor
Found most dishes to be saltier than normal and service was slow.
Might return for dim sum.

Edit: Two of my family members and I all got salmonella. This is always a risk when chicken is brought raw to the table. Only the people who helped serve the soup to everyone else got sick so it was probably the ladle that was contaminated. Sounds like they renovated after a health dept shutdown so might be better now.

Their coconut chicken soup is cooked at the table and has fresh young coconut meat and fresh chicken.
If you request one ahead of time, you can get a whole king crab cooked 3 ways – garlic steamed legs, fried legs, and fried rice made with the head meat.
Prices are what you would expect for the Newton area.

Ding’s Kitchen is one of my go to Chinese restaurants in the Newton area.
They offer hotpot, traditional Chinese food and dim sum (during lunch).
The staff is attentive and friendly.
I come once every other month with my in laws and we never had a bad time. I would recommend checking them out for all three of their unique services. You won’t be disappointed

Drove 45min to try Ding’s Kitchen and it didn’t disappoint. Ordered Peking duck, salt and pepper Dungeness crab, stir fried lobster with glutenous fried rice, salt and pepper calamari, and dim sum. Decided to order a couple more entrees to go for dinner tonight. That’s how good it is! Very authentic and flavorful. Will definitely be back!

When you walk into an Asian restaurant that’s full of Asians you know the food has to be really good and authentic! The beef low mein was pretty yummy and had tender large strips of beef and they didn’t skimp on the meat. Great service and the waiters were polite.

The coconut chicken was some of the best I’ve ever had and has me thinking about it ever since. The Lobster fried sticky rice and the others were also super yummy. Will definitely go back when I’m in the area again.
