Our server was Jassandra! She was so kind and helped us navigate the menu and recommended some amazing dishes:) I went with the Philly Cheesesteak to which she recommended trying it with chicken and my husband had the Blackened Chicken tenders with onion rings. The food was absolutely phenomenal and was so flavorful. Meat was so juicy and the batter for the onion rings had so much flavor. I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. The staff were so polite and made sure we felt right at home.

Food- One word, delicious!!
Service- one word, excellent!
My family eats here often and when family comes in from out of town they always request breakfast at Grumpy’s. They absolutely never disappoint. There will be a wait but believe me it’s worth it. The portions are large and prices reasonable. They do accommodate large parties but be prepared to wait.
Every visit they are always properly staffed and super friendly. Best in the biz!!!!

We had an incredible breakfast experience at Grumpy’s! Andrew was our server and he was absolutely on point—friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. The food? Phenomenal. Huge portions, cooked to perfection, and packed with flavor. You won’t leave hungry, that’s for sure. They have FRESHLY SQUEEZED OJ, which is my absolute favorite!!!!! The vibe is fun and welcoming, with a quirky charm that makes you feel right at home. Definitely a must-visit spot if you’re in the area. We’ll be back!

No one leaves Grumpy’s Grumpy except Grumpy I guess lol Really cool spot, packed full of people that all know the same thing, Grumpy’s is where it’s at. Waiter, andrew I believe, was full of energy and you could tell he likes his job. The way you can see orders coming up through the window with a chain of waitresses waiting to run it. And I can not forget the amazing orange squeeze machine that we ordered on our way out in a merch Mason cup with a handle. Quaint and delicious. Food was awesome but my absolute favorite thing was the cinnamon roll pancakes. Perfect combination with the inner core roll fort on top waking its flag to surrender to my hungry pie hole. It was an absolute pleasure to enjoy Grumpy’s and we will undoubtedly be back for another go!

**The Chicken and Waffles (★★★★★):**
This is not your average chicken and waffles. The fried chicken was the star—incredibly juicy on the inside with a shatteringly crisp, well-seasoned crust that had a subtle kick of spice. It was perfectly cooked, not greasy at all. The waffle was a wonderful companion: golden brown, fluffy on the inside with a slight crispness on the edges. The real genius was the maple syrup, which had a hint of bourbon or smokiness that cut through the richness of the chicken beautifully. A truly top-tier version of this classic dish.

**The Seafood Omelette (★★★★☆):**
This was a bold and delicious choice! The omelette itself was expertly cooked—light, fluffy, and not at all rubbery. It was stuffed with a generous mix of tender shrimp, sweet crab meat, and perhaps a bit of finely diced scallop. The seafood was fresh and not overcooked, which is a common pitfall. The chef used a light cream or cheese sauce to bind it all together, which was flavorful without being overly heavy. My only very minor critique is that it could have used a tiny bit more seasoning or a fresh herb garnish (like chives) to make the flavors pop even more. Still, it was a unique and satisfying dish I’d order again in a heartbeat.

**Atmosphere & Service:**
The restaurant has a great vibe—bustling and energetic without being deafening. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu. The wait for a table was expected for a Saturday morning, but the food came out surprisingly quickly once we ordered

The food here is honestly amazing — fresh, flavorful, and absolutely worth talking about. Every dish we ordered was cooked perfectly and came out hot. You can tell they really care about what’s happening in the kitchen.

Unfortunately, the experience before even walking through the door was stressful. The parking situation is terrible. It’s extremely tight and poorly laid out, and there’s little room to maneuver if it’s even moderately busy. On top of that, there are no clear signs outside indicating the entrance, which made turning in confusing and unsafe. I almost got into an accident trying to figure out where to pull in because there was no proper signage or warning for drivers.

If they improved the parking setup and added visible signs from the road, this place would easily be five stars. The food deserves it — but the lack of safe, clear access really takes away from the overall experience.

Very good place for comfort food. Friendly staff and freshly squeezed orange juice. I made my own omelet and it was delicious. Bacon was very good. Grits not the best, according to my taste, but I still give them a 5-stars review. Did not take my service dog Juno with me this time however, next time I will take her and see how they treat me. Certainly a place to fo back and enjoy the food. If you are a 2nd Ammendment person, be aware you cannot open carry in this establishment. See picture below.

Excellent place for breakfast. Fresh orange juice! Huge portions. Our server was sooo nice and very efficient. She found out our daughter’s birthday was the next day, she sent us homemade cinnamon roll complete with icing! Thank you for taking care of us. I wish I remember her name. We went March 2nd around 8:45am. Our kids live in Orange park and always recommend Grumpy’s. We’ll be back, for sure. Thanks again.

Rarely do I offer 5 Stars across the board. Grumpy’s EARNS it.

With a wide range of offerings to please every palette, the only thing rivaling the taste of the food at Grumpy’s on Kingsley Avenue in Jacksonville, FL is the superlative service of the staff.

All images here are my own to share. Fair warning: you will be drooling.

We tasted…
• Hot Chocolate (with the perfect amount of whipped cream + chocolate sauce drizzle)
• Earl Grey tea
• Crab Cakes Benedict
• Seasoned Home Fries
• Cinnamon Roll
• Cheesy Grits
• Big Boy Breakfast (2 eggs any style, 2 sides, 2 pcs bread/toast/biscuit).

I believe the images speak volumes of the stellar nature of this restaurant.
