Cute restaurant downtown with really delicious food, friendly waiters, good prices and live music during brunch. The presentation was great! We all enjoyed our food and it was great portions. Our waitress made sure we had what we needed. I think the owner/manager checked in on us too. Someone peeked over and asked if everything was good. The Latino singer and drummer were talented and entertaining!
My only complaint was the bathroom was dark, some of the lights must have blown and overall could use a remodel to match the vibe outside.

I absolutely LOVE this place!!! 80 Proof is such a vibe. We come here for brunch and happy hour. Carissa is our waitress of choice!! She always takes good care of our table and makes sure that we are taken care of. Keith, the host is always accommodating and makes sure we get a good table and checks in with us and makes sure that our needs met. And the owner, Sonya always checks on all of her customers and treats us like family. We always have a great time whenever we come here. The food and the drinks don’t disappoint. Come through for Happy hour or Sunday brunch, you won’t be disappointed.

Came here with 4 other friends for a bite to eat before seeing a concert. We ordered wonton nachos, fried calamari, cajun chicken pasta, lobster mac & cheese, oysters, chicken wings, and Caesar salad. We enjoyed our food. Everything was delicious and came out great.
We also enjoyed some adult beverages to include spicy mango margarita and a passion fruit margarita. Staff was friendly and attentive to us. Definitely would come back here again. Restaurant was clean.

Another great happy hour at 80 Proof!! The wings, spinach artichoke dip, Barracuda Mac & Cheese, Nachos, short rib tacos, and chicken tacos were all great, as usual!! Sonia knows how to pick top notch staff!! We were happy to see Keith, the host with the most, back for a cameo!! He’s only back for the next three weekends, so get there soon before he heads back to Europe. When you go, ask for Carissa as she’s the best!! She waitresses and bartends, so either way, she takes care of you with exceptional service!!

While the food/price were good. The customer service was lacking. This was my first time visiting this restaurant. When we arrived the host who ended up also being our server told us that we could seat ourselves at a booth or a table. We picked a table that sat six because of the location of the table so that we could see the game playing on the television. We were told that our party of three could not sit there and had to move. The area was empty and not reserved. We moved to a table that only one of us could watch the game comfortably. The wings were great we ordered sides of Mac and cheese with they wings. They loved everything, I thought the Mac was ok. When we started to pack up the wing we requested ranch dressing to go. (We had initially ordered four orders of wings for reference) On the bill we were charged $2 for the ranch dressing to go. We questioned our waiter about the up charge and decided to pay it. We then waited for her to return to the table which she never did so we had to request bags from another server so we could pack our things in to leave. We paid for Ranch dressing we never received. She did not check on us while we were eating much, and the drinks took a very long time to come and with errors. We tipped her but unfortunately her tip had to reflect the service we received. Also NO ONE EVER came in and sat in the area that we (paying patrons) initially wanted to sit.

Let’s do it folks. I’ve been Happy Hour Hunting and heard great things about this place so me and my girls went to check it out. I heard some music so I knew it was going to be ok. You can’t get happy at Happy Hour if there’s no music. My waitress/bartenders Amber and Jordan are freaking phenomenal. Smiles laughs and Top Tier Service my girls and I really appreciated it. Customer Service is key at any establishment especially if I’m eating or just drinking there. Let’s talk food I had wings and blackened shrimp. The shrimp was shrimping nice plump juicy not over cooked. The garlic parm was cooked to perfection. The only downside to this outing was a bartender named Clarissa her demeanor her energy sucked Debbie Downer at its finest no smiling no interacting just standing behind the bar with her arms over her chest looking like Moody Judy. She threw off the vibe so we left. So if you want to have a good time go check it out just call first and make sure Clarissa is not working. If you get Jordan and Amber your gonna have a great time go check it out

We’ve walked past 80 Proof for too long, and I’m so glad my husband and I finally stopped in for dinner. It was beautiful inside, and the food was delicious! The Mac and cheese was really different – we had it with the blackened chicken, and it had a great flavor. Awesome drinks, and love the new spring specials! Definitely a great spot that we’ll be keeping in mind for future New Haven visits!

The minute we walked in the atmosphere was electric very vibrant place! After we got settled the service was amazing. Nora attended to our every need and the rest of the staff like Eddie and Rick were circling around to make sure that everything was perfect. The food was delicious and the drinks were fire! Would definitely go back the staff is caring, and thoughtful you could tell they all love what they do what a team also really paying attention to detail to inspire a great experience. We had a Galentine‘s party and for 16 people! Everything was great not to mention the music was insane. Thank you for everything.!

80 proof is always amazing and the staff always makes the experience. Carissa was extremely attentive. When our beverages were lower quality than what we previously had she immediately remedied the problem. Keith was amazing as always sitting us quickly and checking on us throughout the night. 80 proof will always be my go to happy hour spot, the way that Sonya has curated the environment and her staff always feels welcoming!
