We grabbed breakfast at the Cracker Barrel in Knoxville before hitting the road, and it was an excellent experience all around. We arrived early on a Sunday morning and were seated quickly. The service was friendly and efficient—exactly what you hope for at the start of a travel day.
I ordered Grandma’s Sampler with country ham, hash brown casserole, and pancakes, and my partner had the Old Timer’s Special with scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, and fried apples. Everything was hot, flavorful, and generously portioned—classic Cracker Barrel comfort food done right.
One small note: the floors were very slick, likely from whatever cleaning solution they use, so if you have limited mobility or are wearing shoes with less grip, just take it slow.
Overall, this was a great stop and a reminder of why we love Cracker Barrel for breakfast—reliable, hearty, and served with a smile.

This was our first time at this Cracker Barrel. Now, we’ve eaten at other Cracker Barrels throughout Tennessee. This restaurant stood out because of its design. It was a rectangular building with dining rooms set up in an elongated format. There is nothing wrong with the restaurant at all. It’s just a different layout and did not have that homey feel that the other restaurants have.
Our waitress gave us excellent service. She checked on us many times and always had a smile on her face.
Our food was delicious! The lemon grilled rainbow trout is always a favorite, along with the hash brown casserole. The serving of fried chicken was massive and delicious.
The restaurant’s store was packed full of beautiful items. We found many items to purchase and enjoy.

Very good food. Service was excellent! Atmosphere is just what you expect from Cracker Barrel. To eat good food with a hint of woodsmoke, very pleasurable experience.

This place is unorganized and lacks management. There was no host at the stand when we arrived. The girl at the store register asked if we’re waiting to be seated. We’re standing at the host stand… OF COURSE we’re waiting to be seated.
Then we were taken to a table, it smelled like urine in the area. I finally figured out why, see picture attached.
Then our waiter wasn’t sure he was supposed to be our waiter so he decided to just be our waiter. Clear lack of organization.
I saw him bring a different table 2 beers and didn’t even have anything to open them with. The lady had to ask him to bring a glass so she could pour the beer in. Also he attempted to open the beers with his hand and then instead used his apron and left the beer caps on their table. Unprofessional.
The food… why was the meatloaf portion so huge and the mashed potatoes looked like it was half a serving? The gravy was sloppily dumped on.
I had to ask for utensils because we were never brought any. No napkins. We were told the corn muffins would be out soon (after he already served us food). They never came. Lack of organization.

The service was disappointing today. It was several small things but the last thing was the cholula sauce they brought to us…I know they can afford to serve at least 1/4-1/2 empty bottle but these were drops. Idk…it’s not that big deal to many but thought it was worth mentioning.

We ordered takeout and arrived early, so we spent some time browsing the store section. The food was good—nothing outstanding, but better than expected. The $5 add-on meal to take home and reheat was a great option I didn’t even know about. The home-cooked feel, all-day breakfast options, and overall atmosphere are what keep us coming back to Cracker Barrel locations across the U.S.

First time eating at a Cracker Barrel and there were some good and bad mixed. I really liked the tots for the appetizer that we got, it was hot and crispy. We both got the grandma’s breakfast and the downside was that the waitress gave us our food late and everything was cold. We also ended up waiting a long time for our drinks and the jelly we ordered. If we had gotten everything as soon as it came out, we would’ve liked the food a lot better. The waitress disappeared for a while and she forgot our items a couple of times.

I ordered a breakfast burger curbside. I was really excited… it looked and sounded great. Unfortunately I was greatly disappointed. The egg was rubbery, the cheese was like hard plastic, wrapped around the driest burger I’ve had in a long time.
Curbside service was fairy quick. There was only one space available, though… apparently several diners didn’t want to park in an undesignated spot.

I’m a former Cracker Barrell trained employee from another state… but live n Knoxville TN now & this time, my takeout order n this store was a Huge disappointment to say the least! The food took forever to cook. They were out of what I ordered & waited to tell me 20 minutes after I ordered it & that after I spent over $100 shopping n the gift shop. The mashed potatoes & green beans were old and dirty looking. My fried pork chop was dark brown, which is either over cooked or old oil, not changed in a while, which affected the flavor of the food, & the muffins & biscuits were smashed. When I asked the lady at the checkout out stand to plz double check my order, she said I had to do it. After I did, then discovered half our desert was missing, she said it was because it was the ice cream part of the cobbler & she “thought” they didn’t give ice cream for to go orders because it might melt. I explained I paid for it & wanted it as I live close. She haggled about they didn’t do it she didn’t think. I asked her to plz check & tell whomever I want what I paid for. I also noted with the meals, my ticjet tonight was almost $200; that I’d just got in from a very long, rainy road trip out of state & was picking up supper so I didnt have to cook…& live very close to the store. I asked for my ice cream. After I asked several times, & got employees acting like they don’t know what to do,… I nearly came close to returning my whole order & gift purchases & just leaving. Prior to finally getting my order, & nearly an hour had passed, I asked them to check on my order & to plz see why it was taking so long?! A checker got a little snitty with me saying they had on-line orders coming in so they’d get to mine when they could. I’m still recovering from back surgery & I told them I couldn’t stand long to wait & that was 1 reason I was anxious to get my order timely. They just looked at me. The place was nearly empty when I got there & “I” had to ask for a chair to plz sit & wait in. They brought out all kinds of orders, but 3 people came in to pick them up.. I’m praying for the stores sake, that those customers paid for their order online – because they just handed the food out without checking or meeting them at the register. Finally I saw 2 other patrons who had been waiting nearly as long as I had, still waiting when I left. I felt sorry for them. Prior to finally getting to leave, I had to wait even longer 4 someone in the back to go out to the big freezer to get my icecream I was told, After an extremely long time waiting, I got my order, I had 2b sure it was corrected & was Finally able to leave. I will NEVER go back to that store to Eat EVER again. The gift shop & young lady working in that area were Amazing, but I came to get food. I realize people have bad days, but this whole experience turned me off Cracker Barrell for good because their name got trashed n this experience as my food was sent out the door with me -based on the crappy, & I mean crappy quality of food, & the time it took to get it. It started getting busy when I left & I was hurting & too tired to make them right the wrong. Just sending my vote that they failed me miserably. This was just Not the quality of Cracker Barrell I’ve been used to locally or around the country. Food is dried out. If this is the norm for that Parkside Drive Knoxvilke TN store….They need a new Manager then.

We stopped in here on our way home from Pigeon Forge. Oh wow! We are never disappointed. Every Cracker Barrel is such a delight. All employees were nice and our server Tricia was a super delight! Top notch, on her game 1,000%. Our drinks never went dry. Our food arrived with perfect timing. Friendly conversation. Suggestions to finish out our vacation. She was a breath of fresh air early in the morning. Customer Service never fails at a Cracker Barrel! Thank you for our amazing dining experience! Much needed! Thank you! 🙂
