Very welcoming Hibachi grill. Typical Japanese hibachi style cuisine. All was prepared very well and seasoned properly. Some of the flavors are the standard I would like to see some menu updates. Nothing really stood out as “beyond belief” good, but nothing was bad. The chef and waitress were both personable and friendly to deal with.

The sushi was good and waitress was quick with refills. Overall a good a experience! I knocked a star off for atmosphere – this location was a bit more dingy than the landing location, and a lot smaller of a seating area. When it comes to sushi, I want to trust the source. I’ve grown to trust the Lansing location and when I walked in to this venue, I was a little concerned about the quality of the food just because the restaurant almost felt dirty to me. It’s been a few days and I didn’t get sick (lol) and overall the food was good! And comparable to the other location I’ve been to.

Terrible experience! First of all, today I recommend friends to come and eat together because the experience was really great before! But three things made me unhappy today! First, the waiter’s attitude is very not friendly, do not ask for refills, and do not take away the cutlery, unless I stand up to find her and tell her I need. Secondly, the ice cream in the spical dinner combow does not actively ask if we need it, so that we are so angry that we directly choose not to need and leave. Third, the taste of the food is far worse than before, and most things are too salty. The vegetables were also burnt. This may also be my last visit to this restaurant.

Perfect, once again Ukai! Great jobs by both the waitstaff, Sarah, and the chef, Alex. I ordered my filet “rare”, and you can see that it is perfectly rare. Thanks also to the sushi chef for helping me to find a roll with white tuna that was not listed on the menu. Candy Cane roll was delicious. I guess I was just too hungry to take a picture! But, it was beautiful!

Its dinner and a show! Good Japanese food made to order just the way you like it. Good atmosphere and you can sit alone if you like or be seated with others if you’d like that. There are times, however , that its best to have a reservation.

Everything was very delicious and fun except my filet mignon was overcooked and a bit dry. Also my lobster was very dry and tasted like a burnt tire. The chef put on a good show and gave my friend a great birthday celebration, so that was pretty dope. The music wasn’t up to par, however, unless you like weird 2013 dribble. These are pretty minor details though, and overall it was a good experience.

Not the best hibachi around, but the sushi is good. I feel that the food is overpriced and it seems a little cramped in there.

Our chef seemed like he had never done this before. He dropped his knife and spatula multiple times. He never cut the fat off of the steak and also forgot to season it. Portions were the smallest I’ve ever seen at any hibachi…it’s sad when you pay this much and leave hungry.
That’s the amount of vegetables I was served

There’s nothing like a classic. We had originally walked into another, newer Ukia but didn’t get the warm, friendly feeling we received at this original Okemos location. We were greeted by the nice hostess, an organized, friendly waitress and a fun chef.

I’m from Japan. I like here. I ate Chirashi Sushi that many slices of some kinds fishes covered on white rice. It was great. And I liked smell of this restaurant. It’s exactly like my grandpa house.
