Was not a planned trip- just meeting a large- LARGE, family group for breakfast celebrating my brother’s military retirement. Everyone loved their food! I got the brisket hash and the Apfel Pfannekuchen with biscuits and gravy. All three were solid. I tried someone’s lemon blueberry bread pudding french toast, amazing! I didn’t have any but every talked about how good their coffee was.
Nothing I can add to these reviews that hasn’t already been said – but order the Apfel Pfannekuchen for your group!

Our estimated wait time was accurate and they sent us a text when the table was ready. The staff were attentive and kind. My husband had a version of eggs Benedict but I can’t remember the name. I had the biscuits and gravy which also had a different name. The gravy was very flavorful although I wish there had been more of it for the three biscuits. They cook their eggs in bacon grease which is a great idea. Our orange juice was freshly squeezed. I like the environment and would love to go back! There are so many delicious meals on the menu.

Website doesnt let you order online, tried to call but was told to use yelp which also didnt work, so had to drive there and wait after ordering in person. Menu has a decent selection of breakfast food and my order came out the most correct than Ive had in a while. My only issue was i ordered the texas pecan and peach waffle but while the waffle was good the peaches were undercooked and crunchy. Aside from all that the clerk at the take away counter was spectacular!

September 27 is the day I arrived at this lovely establishment. Straight off a flight. This was my first stop. I’d only read a handful of reviews before visiting. I’m not from San Antonio so I don’t know what is around but from the looks of it, it’s not much.
When my uber driver pulled up to the restaurant I saw a line out of the building. I anticipated a little wait. Surprisingly 5 minutes after checking in, I was sat at a nice quaint table.
For a Saturday morning, this restaurant is packed! There was a line when I arrived and when I left. I feel like they consider this as there is plenty of seating on their “front porch”.
After I was sat, I was greeted promptly by my waitress who took the time to tell me what the most popular dishes were on the menu. I opted for the Magnolia breakfast.
Pancakes, eggs, bacon and hash browns. Simple enough. I got the blueberry pancakes which was the star of the whole show. Eggs scrambled with cheese… you can’t really mess that up. Bacon , crispy = burnt. I’m always weary of crispy bacon because of this but whatever. The hash browns were cold. I did not eat them after I tasted.
Now I am not one to send food back or make a fuss about anything at a restaurant. I’ll just never come again.
My breakfast for one was roughly $22 including a sprite. Keep in mind that i added cheese to my eggs and blueberries to my pancakes which is an up charge.
Would I visit again? Absolutely yes. Like I said the pancakes alone did it for me.

I’ve been hearing about Magnolia Pancake Haus ever since moving down to San Antonio, and I had been meaning to give it a try for just as long. Well, my husband and I finally took it upon ourselves to eat here, as we were in the area. The service was excellent! Our server was warm, informative, and more than helpful. I loved the atmosphere; it was kitschy and reminiscent of grandma’s house without being too garish or over the top.
The coffee was superb. I don’t what it was, but it was some of the best coffee I’ve ever had. I believe it must’ve been the cream they use. It was dairy-forward in a delightfully pleasant manner.
My husband’s over easy eggs were gorgeous—perfectly cooked amwitj s lovely bright orange yolk. The grits were fantastic, too, and also unlike any I’ve had at other establishments. My better half also got the biscuits and gravy. Man, those had to be in the top 5 best biscuits I’ve had! So crumbly and slightly dense.. in the best way.
However, the two highlights we tried were the breakfast sausage and the apple pfannkuchen. Hands down, the sausage was the tastiest I’ve ever tried. The German pancake was AMAZING. The lightly crisp edges,, the caramelized apples.. the heavenly whipped cream.. I was enamored by it. You must try.
I’m so glad this place lived up to all the hype. I’ll be recommending Magnolia to our friends and family who visit.

We had a short wait, which was reasonable for a Saturday morning. The good was fresh and hot. Two of our party were vegan, and the selection was small. We initially picked the place due to other reviews that indicated more options. Our waitress did a great job of checking with the kitchen. The banana bread is vegan along with the avocado toast. FYI, the hash is not since bacon grease is used in the mixture. The other dishes were filling and well prepared.
Update after owner’s reply: Thank you for the information. The selections were made based on the information provided by the waitress who checked with the kitchen prior to our order. The veggie hash was one item they were eager to try. However, we were told that the hash themselves were mixed with bacon grease. He also asked if some could be made eliminating the grease, and it was explained that they are made in batches for the day.

This is by far one of my favorite breakfast places. The pancakes were top notch. The waiter was nice and informative on questions or moderations we requested for. When I’m in San Antonio again we will definitely be back.

As a Google reviewer who enjoys tasting different cuisines, I recently went there for breakfast, and it was an exceptional experience! The food featured a delightful blend of flavors, was well-prepared, and beautifully presented. The variety and quality of the dishes were outstanding. The service was impeccable; the staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring all our needs were met. The ambiance was warm and inviting. With fantastic food and excellent service, this restaurant is truly a gem. I highly recommend it and plan to return. However, one thing to note is that the place is often packed, and the wait time can be extended.

Elaborate menu for breakfast with reasonable portions. Good ambience and cheerful and helpful servers. The only reason for four stars is because freshly hard boiled eggs didn’t taste so fresh.

We love the Magnolia Pancake Haus. It’s always a treat for us. The food is special. The service is great. From hostesses through the cashiers we always feel welcome. We brought our college-age son on our most recent visit. It’s the only breakfast he will wake up for. The earlier you arrive, the better in terms of waiting. But you never wait as long as they tell you.
