I have patronized our local Jersey Mike’s Subs location in Laurens since its opening last October and I have patronized quite often. I have always been pleased with the food and service there. And, if I want the best sub, this is where I eat. I rarely ever do this, but, I have to share. If you are going to include a place on your online orders for special instructions, please look at those instructions. I almost always get #17, the Famous Philly Sub. And, I always ask for lettuce and light mayonnaise. I ordered that tonight and included those instructions. I picked up the sandwich, brought it home and opened it up to begin eating. It was “swimming”, yes, I mean swimming in mayonnaise. No, I am not above wiping off the excess mayonnaise, but, by the time I had finished wiping it off, the weight of all of the mayonnaise made the bread roll extremely soggy. Please make sure to read those special instructions – they are there for a reason!

This was my first time trying Jersey Mike’s in Laurens, SC. I ordered a Jersey Mike’s Chicken Sub and a Jersey Mike’s Philly. I was not aware that green peppers didn’t come with the Jersey Mike’s Philly. They told me green peppers was extra So I told them that I wanted green peppers. They put the green peppers on the skillet and bought them to me in a cup. They didn’t even try to take my sandwich to blend them with the cheese, meat, and onions. So I have a sandwich with everything melted together except the green peppers. This place is too expensive for my sandwich not to be done right. I am very disappointed with my order.

Update: That was the nastiest philly I have ever tasted

Better than Irene’s next door! Can’t even compare. Subs are Delicious. They deserve every single dollar. They even close later. Best thing that’s happened to Lauren’s in a while. Been coming everyday. Made to order subs always so tasty. Try something new everyday. All their subs are amazing. Try the Philly. Add bacon. Amazing subs.

I have tried this place a handful of times now. I get subs from jersey mikes up in simpsonville and Greenville frequently so I was happy when they opened one up in my county but this one does not know what they’re doing. I always order from the hot subs. Either a chicken Philly or steak philly. I kept getting the subs and the bread was so soggy and I couldn’t figure out why cause this never happens from any other location. After the third time I realized it wasn’t a fluke and realized they were probably adding oil. I order through DoorDash and it correctly states on the menu that it only has cheese, meat, onions and peppers. There is no “Mike’s way” in the description which is the oil and vinegar mixture. At every other store Mike’s way is only added to cold subs, not the hot subs. So they’re making the subs the wrong way to begin with. Then when you order them on door dash, they make them wrong based on the description. I called immediately after placing an order and said do not put oil on it and they said you can uncheck it and I was like I can’t because it’s not a listed ingredient because it’s not supposed to be on the sub and they said you can do it in the comments and said I can’t because there are no substitutions so I can’t leave a comment and she said ok so you can just call and I was like I am right now and they still sent it with oil and vinegar. I will not be dining with them again. I’d rather drive up to Simpsonville where they make them properly.

Update: spoke to manager who claims it wasn’t oil and vinegar making bread soggy. I’m not sure if that’s better though because the bread is soaking wet and isn’t like this at any other locations and he had no explanation as to why.

This place has the opportunity to make a good sub. However the bread sits out on the rack and open and dries out for the bread so it is hard. if they can find a way to storage the bread in an air tight way so it is soft and fresh it will be a great Sub.
