This place is so freakin’ good. We stop by every time we’re in the area. The gang loves the chicken bbq+katsu combo and chicken stir fried noodles.
Plus, the servings are big enough to split with another person, and prices are reasonable for everything you get. The staff is super kind here too. You can’t go wrong with anything here!

Very awkward establishment! First question I get when I walk in as if I’m picking up an Uber order.. Is that because I’m brown? I did not like the experience whatsoever! Also, I paid for a drink. She neglected to tell me the ice machine wasn’t working, so I got warm soda and then threw it away outside her door. I’ll never come back here again. And I’ll make sure to sway my friends and family to an American Hawaiian establishment

Having tried most of the popular Hawaiian spots around town — Aloha Kitchen, Ono Hawaiian BBQ, Moku’s, and Moki’s — I can confidently say Big Island Hawaiian BBQ has earned a spot in my top three. The customer service was fantastic, and despite a crowd of people waiting for their orders, the wait time was impressively short.

Wow! The value here is top notch. At the time of this review prices of food and overall inflation are at record levels, and despite all that, this place still has tremendous value for the dollar.
I always know I’m in for a treat when I get my food and the bag feels heavy.
We got a mountain of delicious food. I’m not normally a macaroni salad kind of guy, but I loved the stuff here. The chicken katsu and the fish were wonderful.

Ordered crab rangoon-outside was crispy, could have used a little more cream cheese and needed a dipping sauce of some sort.
& BBQ Chicken (Mini) -came with macaroni salad, steamed veggies and a scoop of rice.

I pick up 3rd party here so I can’t really compliment the food. It looks and smells delicious though! However, the service is always very slow and a lot of people are always waiting for the food. The service are always so nice though.

My husband had this food thru his work and said it was excellent. I’ve been trying to eat there to try it and they’ve always been super busy. But tonight after work, my husband drove over to bring home the beef and chicken plate. There’s so much food on this dish that it is enough to feed both of us with a little leftover. I asked if they used pineapple in their sauce (because I’m deathly allergic to pineapple) and they said they don’t use pineapple. It was very, very good.

This is by far our favorite Hawaiian BBQ, they have a pretty standard menu but somehow the flavors are better. Chicken Katsu is always well breaded and delicious, don’t forget the katsu sauce. The chicken combo with bbq and katsu is an awesome combination if you can’t make up your mind. The macaroni salad is also yummy, my wife likes two scoops of in, sub out the rice. The regular size is easily shareable.

Flavor was great, portions size was amazing and ease of ordering plus speed of service was excellent! I ordered the BBQ Beef salad plate and my husband ordered the beef and chicken combo. His came with a pile of steamed broccoli and cabbage under that giant pile of meat. He ate the whole plate, which means he really enjoyed it! I requested the house dressing with my salad and I loved it. It was a ginger sesame creamy dressing which compliments the flavor of their food perfectly.
