We recently hosted my daughter’s bridal shower at this wonderful restaurant, and I can’t say enough good things about the experience. From start to finish, the staff was incredibly accommodating and attentive—every detail was handled with care and warmth.
The food was absolutely delicious, and the venue was perfect for our group. One of the highlights was being given the flexibility to choose which spaces we wanted to use. We started with cocktails on the beautiful porch as guests arrived, which set a lovely tone for the event. Then we moved to the downstairs room for lunch, which was full of charm and character and just right for our group of 24.
Our guests raved about both the setting and the food, and we were so pleased with how seamless and special everything felt. It was the perfect place to celebrate such a meaningful occasion. Highly recommend for private events—or even just a great meal!

We recently had a friends and family celebration downstairs and it was wonderful! The planning leading up to the event was easy going. Our guests loved the atmosphere and intimacy of the private lounge and “speakeasy” style bar. Our bartendar Aiden was amazing! Carlos worked closely with us on the menu to meet our needs and guests thoroughly enjoyed the food. Would highly recommend this charming and quintessential New England venue!

Been a couple times, food is excellent every time. Steak with red wine Demi glaze, the scallops over risotto with lobster beurre blanc were fabulous. The beet salad is like no other with the beet jam on the plate. The short rib is a sight to behold and delicious. Highly recommend. And to top it all off they have a superb happy hour menu with good food for a deal, try the shrimp and the hummus. Did I say highly recommend?

Staff was awesome, very attentive. Gorgeous place to have dinner or just grab a drink. We had dinner, was good overall (try the Caeser salad!). I had the short rib which was a little too fatty and tough for my liking, and my husband’s duck was a little overcooked. Drinks were awesome, and the ambiance was good for a date night! There was an acoustic singer in the bar which was nice. Inn is in same old looking house, would definitely consider a stay. Great location too!

Thanks to Soma Grille for working with my family to provide a specialized after funeral luncheon, allowing us to choose from food and drink options that matched our price range. The holiday atmosphere was peaceful and elegantly decorated. We felt comfortable with the time span provided in our private room where we could gather, eat, socialize, tell stories and celebrate my Mother without feeling rushed or interrupted by the general public. Their early evening Happy hour after was awesome too!

I recently had my wedding at Soma Grille at the 1820 House on October 19th, and I truly can’t say enough wonderful things about it. It was absolutely perfect from start to finish. Carlos Rodriguez, the Executive Chef Owner, and Jena, the incredible Event & Wedding Planner, make the most amazing team. They went above and beyond in every possible way to make our day flawless — and they succeeded.
The ceremony by the pond was beautiful, the reception inside was stunningly decorated, and the food was phenomenal (as it always is at Soma). Every single detail was thoughtfully handled, and everything ran so smoothly thanks to Jena, Carlos, and the entire Soma staff. Their kindness, generosity, and dedication truly shine through in everything they do.
This isn’t the first special occasion we’ve celebrated here — my sister’s wedding reception, my mother’s retirement party, two baptisms, and two rehearsal dinners have all been hosted at Soma. Every single time, it’s been outstanding. The food, the atmosphere, and the staff never fail to impress.
Soma Grille is one of those rare places that genuinely cares about their guests. They make you feel special, valued, and taken care of. And on top of it all, they make the best espresso martinis in the entire Farmington Valley!

Can’t say enough good things about the Soma Grille! We hosted a Christmas Eve party for twenty in the downstairs “Speakeasy” room, and it was perfect. We have loved eating there for a while, but this was a great place for a bigger event! Carlos was incredibly patient and helpful with the planning process, and he made it very easy and fun to plan. The food was delicious, drinks were forthcoming, and the staff went out of their way to be helpful. They decorated the room for the holidays, which was lovely with the cozy fireplace. So grateful to Carlos and his crew, and highly recommend Soma Grille for a delicious dinner any time or for a bigger event!!

The flavors are bold and fresh. The portions are satisfying. The wine list and libations selections are appropriate and accessibly priced. The bartender is clever and the chefs are talented and eager to please. That’s very refreshing to see nowadays! I shall return.
