Exceptional Ethiopian Food, Culture, and Hospitality: We had a wonderful family dinner at Feru Restaurant and Bar, and the experience was outstanding from start to finish. My wife, daughter, and I shared one of their combination platters along with the avocado salad, and every element was thoughtfully prepared and deeply flavorful.
The injera was a standout—properly sour, soft, and clearly made with real teff. Exactly how it should be. The vegetable dishes were vibrant and complex, each with its own character, and the spicy meat dish was rich, tender, and perfectly balanced with heat and spice. This is soulful, authentic Ethiopian cooking done right.
We also enjoyed tej, the traditional Ethiopian honey wine, which was lightly sweet, refreshing, and paired beautifully with the meal. As a final touch, the staff brought out traditional Ethiopian Yirgacheffe coffee, prepared and served in the classic style. It was aromatic, smooth, and a memorable way to close the evening—more than a drink, it felt like a cultural moment.
The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the service was genuinely kind and attentive, and the overall experience felt both authentic and special. Feru isn’t just a place to eat—it’s a place to slow down, share food, and experience Ethiopian hospitality.
We’ll absolutely be back. Highly recommended.

Delicious Ethiopian Awaze tips. Excellent price point. We HAD Ethiopian coffee and dessert was a tiny bit frozen but still delicious… we would definitely come back.

My wife and I tried this restaurant for our first experience of Ethiopian food – and we were delighted with our choice. The owner, Nirebet was an amazing hostess and gracious in explaining the what and the how, the ingredients, the delicacies and the traditions. The service was very personalized, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the food was delicious! We had the vegetable Sambusa as appetizers, the Awasa Tibs for our main course, and Baklava for dessert. I topped it off with the traditional Ethiopian coffee while my wife tried the tea with ginger, cloves, cinnamon and other spices. It was all truly excellent, with the Injera and tender beef Awasa Tibs and the homemade baklava making us want more. We highly recommend this place, and will be certainly visiting again to try some of the other dishes.

Took my wife here for her first Ethiopian food experience. The coffee was excellent and the food so tasty. We love how they show the beans and roasting. We ordered both the veggie and meat combo. A great way to sample a variety for first timers. Definitely will be returning here for more.

Niberet, owner of the restaurant, was absolutely delightful. She is an excellent chef. Every item was delicious including Baklavas and Tiramisu. She performed a coffee ceremony which was an experience in itself.

We wanted to try a new ethiopian restaurant and had lunch with friends at this restaurant but we were not satisfied with the portion they served compared to the price. The price for their combo was $60 but it doesn’t deserve any more than $35. The chicken tibs was dry, the kitfo lacked butter, the rest was ok.

We had an incredible lunch opting for the veggie combo. One plate was good enough for two moderate eaters. Each dish was perfectly cooked and seasoned. We did not leave a single drop on the plate. Our server was so kind and friendly, even offering a sample of their homemade honey wine after our meal. The prices are definitely fair considering the amount of food you get. There’s also a full bar for a night out. Also plenty of free parking in the lot. Highly recommend this place 🙂
