Eric, family and team gave us an awesome evening! Amazingly fresh food, great setup even in the winter, and made us full! Shoutout to Ian for serving us so well. We’ll be back!

Incredible experience! The food, hospitality, and scenery were all outstanding. Also someone in our party had an allergy, and they were well taken care of. We really enjoyed our server, Ingrid, and meeting the chef / owner. Much more than 4 courses – you will not go hungry!

We had a reservation in one of the gazebos, which was fun and cozy. The service was terrible and we spent a lot of time waiting between drink orders and receiving them and between courses. The main course was not very hot when it arrived and the ice cream dessert was melted. Because we were remote, we couldn’t flag down an employee to figure out what was going on but just sat hoping for the next thing to happen. Towards the end of the evening we were told that they had sold 11 gazebos instead of the usual 7 so that explains a lot. It appears they were very understaffed. I’d be interested in experiencing the meal when it’s properly staffed but not at the prices they charge.

I had the pleasure of photographing a wedding at Black Cat Organic Farms in Boulder, Colorado, this past fall, and it was an incredible experience. The landscape was stunning – with rolling hills and a sunflower field that made for the perfect backdrop. The couples day was laid-back yet timely, and the staff did an excellent job keeping everything running smoothly.

The farm-to-table meal was one of the best I’ve ever had at a wedding, and the venue felt like an upscale backyard garden party – cozy and elegant at the same time. The couple’s focus on spending quality time together made it even more special. They even had a live band to keep the energy high, and we got some amazing sunset portraits in the sunflower field.

Black Cat Organic Farms is both a great place to eat and wedding venue. I highly recommend it for couples seeking a unique, picturesque location for their wedding day!

Let me begin by saying that no matter how carefully I choose my words—whether brief or elaborate—I will never fully do justice to the extraordinary dining experience at Black Cat Farm. This isn’t merely a meal; it’s an experience, one that lingers in your memory long after the last bite.

I first discovered Black Cat Farm on a warm summer evening in June 2022, captivated by its charm and ethos. (You’ll find some photos from that unforgettable night included.) Sadly, shortly after, the farm faced regulatory challenges that temporarily shuttered its doors. However, last month marked their triumphant return, and they’ve reclaimed their place as one of the most unique dining destinations in the area.

The setting alone is remarkable. Guests are seated in one of 10-15 glass bungalows scattered across the farm, each outfitted with a wood-burning stove for warmth during the colder months. These spaces embody thoughtful, heritage-inspired design, complete with soft wool blankets spun from the farm’s own sheep. In the summer, the farm buzzes with life—chickens, ducks, and other animals roam freely, adding to the rustic charm. In winter, the scene transforms into a snowy wonderland, framed by majestic, snow-capped mountains.

As for the meal itself, Black Cat Farm offers a dining concept rooted in trust and creativity. There’s no menu to browse; instead, the incredibly talented team crafts a bespoke, farm-to-table feast that reflects the season and the land. Everything is grown, sourced, and prepared on-site, often from plants and trees just steps from your table. Each course is delivered with a detailed explanation of its ingredients and origins, shared with warmth and authenticity. Far from feeling pretentious, this approach highlights the deep care and passion behind every dish.

This ethos is best exemplified by the owner himself, who might be driving the tractor in the morning and serving plates in the evening. His presence underscores the hands-on dedication that defines Black Cat Farm—it’s unassuming, genuine, and deeply personal.

The food is nothing short of extraordinary. Every dish is an exercise in balance, thoughtfulness, and creativity. The flavors invite you to savor, reflect, and discuss, turning the meal into a shared experience of discovery. The pacing between courses allows time to linger over each bite and appreciate the craftsmanship behind the presentation.

There is simply no other dining experience in the metro area that compares. Black Cat Farm is a rare gem, blending innovation, authenticity, and a touch of magic. If you’re seeking something truly special, look no further. Reservations open every Monday on their website, and they disappear quickly—don’t let this opportunity pass you by.

Wow – Black cat is incredible. The food, the staff, the owners, the outdoor hut rooms – way beyond expectations. We appreciated how thoughtful they were to order the wine we liked when we forgot to respond to them. When we had to do a late minute cancellation due to a dog injury, they immediately helped us find another couple to take our spot and rescheduled us. The attention to detail and care beyond. My favorite part was interacting with the owner and his son – we loved hearing about sunflowers and Jerusalem artichokes. What a wonderful family business.

The best dining experience I have ever had the food was spectacular, the cabanas were intimate and cozy (even on a rainy day, thanks to the private wood burning stove), and the farm setting was so much fun to explore. Highly recommend for a leisurely and unique celebration of a special occasion.

One of the most incredibly magic dining experiences I have ever had. I have traveled all over the world and eaten everywhere from noodles off a long tail boat in Thailand to Michelin Star Restaurants on multiple continents. This is a one of a kind experience that I have never had replicated anywhere else. Eric’s passion for culinary experiences is evident through the entire experience from the arrival, food selections, seating areas, and the service. My whole family felt it was worth every penny and we expect to be back!

Our dinner at the farm was spectacular. It is such a beautiful location, even in the winter and at night (although I do want to return in the summer). The pre-fix multi-course dinner was excellent – so nice not to have to choose anything, and the staff was warm and generous in their explanations. We loved cozying up in our own cabana with a wood burning stove and playing our own music over the provided speaker. 10/10 recommend for a special night!

We had an amazing experience eating at Black Cat! We started with a drink and walking around the farm, seeing the animals and amazing views at sunset. The farm is incredible! We were brought to our table, and had a fantastic 7 course meal. The hor dourves were already at our table when we sat down, and were a great mix of flavors. The entree was our favorite, a delicious mix of pork, potatoes, and vegetables. All the ingredients are sourced either from the farm or nearby, and you can taste the quality in each bite. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would absolutely go back.
