My husband and I ate here today, not knowing what to expect, been thinking about coming for awhile. It was a nice quiet atmosphere, the waitress was friendly, we both ordered meatloaf. I had mashed potatoes and green beans, all was delicious, and a large portion. My husband had meatloaf and Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes.. all was excellent.. we will be back.

Portions are generous and they also offer take out. Everything we’ve tried has been delicious. After a long day at work you don’t feel like cooking but still want a “homemade” meal, this is your place! Btw you won’t find a better Banana Pudding if you made it yourself.

Great service and food. My family had from the country cooking menu. I tried the country fried chicken and it was crispy on outside and juicy on inside —great job. They raved about the Mac and cheese. I had mushroom Swiss burger with home cut fries, both delicious. First let me say the food was served hot and fresh—excellent. The burger was big I had to cut it in half to eat it. It was juicy flavorful and hit the spot for a burger. The best burger I have had from a restaurant in a while. The fries were cut thick and cooked nicely with crispy outside (some skin left in ) and fluffy inside.
The wait staff were prompt friendly and attentive to our needs.
The atmosphere was a mix of fun including plenty of tvs to watch, pool, video games and trivia. There is a ability for live music but not while we were there. The bar was a focal point with regulars. It was nice to see the staff interact with the regulars with friendliness and anticipation of their needs.
The overall noise was great not too loud and my family was able to have conversations without yelling to hear each other, defiantly a plus. Thanks for a great meal and a good time.

Husband had the hamburger steak and loved it. I had chicken fried chicken with a splash of delicious gravy. So I give the food an A. The waitress was fantastic. She was fast and courteous. We had a conversation about her as we watched her hustle from customer to customer. I have to give her an A+.

My family and I went here Thanksgiving night for dinner and we were pleasantly surprised. As we had never been there before. The food was delicious, the service was attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere felt relaxed, happy, and warm. We had a great experience and we recommend it to everyone. We cannot wait to try their regular menu options after tasting their Thanksgiving menu.

The service was great at Nellie Ruth’s, no issue there. The food was not good at all though. The chicken fried chicken was bland, the flounder was mostly breading (and a little soggy), the green beans were overcooked & mushy, the corn bread was extremely dry. The salad bar did not look appealing to me (pretty basic). The only thing I enjoyed were the mashed potatoes with brown gravy. We will not be back. I was really looking forward to trying this place, as I’d seen some people post that it was good, but I was thoroughly disappointed.

If you haven’t tried Nellie Ruth’s Southern Kitchen and Cocktails you must go!!! Highly recommend!! The pineapple ham was sweet and savory, the mashed potatoes were thick and creamy and the brown gravy was perfect for them. The baked, creamy and cheesey mac and cheese and black eyed peas rounded out the meal perfectly for me! I’m picky about sweet tea and it was PERFECT!!! I will be trying the meatloaf next! They also have a fresh ALL YOU CAN EAT SALAD BAR with housemade dressings! Tell them LaLa sent you!
