When we got in we were greeted and sat down, our server was nice but you could see that she’s pulling the ship with all of the untrained staff. Order our drinks, got them not too long after but they didn’t really know what mixed drinks were what. Order our food after a while and more drinks, drinks took way too long to arrive and they forgot to bring 2 so we asked again that took another 15-20 minutes to arrive. Got our starters they were not bad but the prawns were absolutely burned and tasted very bitter. Then our mains arrived, I’m sorry but the staff is not trained at all I get you have new staff but you should train them for the price we are paying of the food and service, the service is bad, I’m not saying it’s the staff fault but the managers and bosses! As we could see multiple supervisor/managers just chatting on the bar and doing nothing. Well we order 6 steaks and from that only two were cooked how we asked to be, the other people were fine how they had them but mine was too rare for my liking as I asked for medium rare it was more Blue, so I asked if I can get it a bit more the second time was perfect, but waited for a while and then they forgot my chips, they also forgot 2 salads and it was just constant back and forth. As the servers were putting all the food down almost dropped the whole tray with sides and when putting the steaks down bumping me with the other hot plate.Ate our food didn’t get any deserts as we thought we would be disappointed again. I got a complimentary dessert as my food took long but wouldn’t recommend that anyway. So overall we were not wowed by the experience, also another thing the toilets are horrendous, toilet paper everywhere on the floor no toilet roll just in two cubicles needs a bit attending to! As you pay quite a lot of money you expect better.
We were served by the lovely Maria, who made us feel right at home. She was fantastic throughout the evening! We ordered drinks, starters, and mains, and everything arrived promptly—drinks first, then our starters shortly after. We had halloumi fries and calamari, both absolutely delicious.
About 20 minutes later, our mains arrived: a juicy medium-rare wagyu steak, sea bass, and a rump steak for our little one. Every dish was bursting with flavour. We might have gone overboard with the sides, but they were too tempting to resist.
Overall, outstanding service, wonderful food, and a beautiful atmosphere. Highly recommended—we’ll definitely be coming back!
My only small criticism would be that the only toilet facilities are upstairs, which being 38 weeks pregnant, was a bit of a task.
I would say, I was a bit disappointed, the service is not commendable. Our server seemed disinterested and rushed, making us feel more like an inconvenience than paying customers. There was no sense of urgency or hospitality, and it made the entire experience frustrating.
When the food finally arrived, it made us feel better. It was absolutely delicious! Love the steak and all the sides as always! Until we ordered carter’s signature chocolate bar dessert, it was not as good as what we ate from southampton branch. There were no gold dust on the chocolate bar, no strawberries, melted ice cream and the banana tasted too ripe. It was very frustrating as I was looking forward to enjoying the dessert.
Overall, the poor service overshadowed what could have been a decent meal. It was supposed to be a special day for celebration which makes the experience worse. I would still come back for the steak though, hopefully with a better service next time or I might probably just go for southampton branch.
She was friendly and the service was quick as it wasnt too busy. The decor is lovley and feels really high end
The food was delicious and arrived quickly, and the complimentary “congratulations” dessert was such a thoughtful touch. It ended our evening perfectly and made us feel genuinely spoilt, such a lovely gesture!
The manager Joe was so welcoming and friendly, and as always, it was a pleasure to see Julie, who is consistently warm and wonderful.

Really good steak too exactly how I wanted it cooked! Delicious bottle of Argentinian malbec too to accompany my rib eye!
First time here and will certainly come back.
