We arrived around 8:30 p.m. and the bar area was fairly quiet at first. We asked if we could eat in the bar even though our reservation was for the dining room. The security guard said yes, so we grabbed high top seats between the mechanical bull and the dance floor. After about ten minutes with no service, we decided to use our dining reservation instead.
The dining room was a pleasant surprise. We were seated right away, the hostess was warm, and our server was upbeat and attentive. As a vegetarian I had hoped for a spicy southwestern pasta, but the menu had limited plant-based choices. I ordered the Beyond Burger and fries. The burger was tasty and satisfying, though I would love to see more vegetarian options. My partner ordered the baked half chicken. The portion was generous and she loved it.
After a relaxed dinner in a not too crowded dining room, we returned to the bar and took seats at the main bar for quicker service. The atmosphere picked up as the night went on. We enjoyed a few rounds of drinks and had a blast watching people line dance and two-stepping. The DJ mixed classic and modern country tunes and kept the energy high. The crowd was friendly and everyone seemed to be having a great time.
We had hoped to see the mechanical bull in action and maybe ride it. Unfortunately, the bull was not operating for our second visit in two years. It would be great if the bull’s hours were posted more clearly so guests can plan around it and not miss the show.
Overall, we had a fantastic night. The food was good, the staff were friendly, and the entertainment was a lot of fun even without the bull. We always look forward to visiting Gilley’s when we are in Las Vegas. If you love country music and line dancing, Gilley’s is one of the best spots on the Strip.
No napkins at the BBQ line and running out of utensils.
The brisket was well seasoned, but a bit dry. The sauce was on the side and you had to request it.
A bartender tried to make me a “smoked Old Fashion” with a glass full of ice chips!!! When it was clear she had no idea how to smoke it, watching the iced melting and I said forget it. Let me get a Guinness. It came out just foam so she set it down to rest. I told her to keep that as well and went to the bar upstairs. My guy tried the old fashion, but no smoke. No cherry either.
I know they’ll work it out. God Speed Gilley’s. Beautiful establishment.
The beef, pork, and chicken were all super dry and overcooked. Only the salmon was actually good. On the plus side, they are very generous with the broccoli side order—it’s delicious and one of the few places around here where you can get a good serving of veggies. Highly recommended for the greens!
