Lovely meal! Only disappointment for me was the beef tartar which just tasted like pickles and overpowered everything else. Get the rolls with caviar and the lobster toast. Desserts were amazing – especially the blondie sundae.

Every item is scrumptious the portion is small but the taste is beyond my expectations, especially the pork belly and octopus and Mahi Mahi. The signature chicken meal is the ideal portion. Other than parking in downtown is a problem, definitely will be back again for the food.

We’ve dined at The Town Company many times and have always left impressed, but our recent visit on 11/8 was disappointing. Service at the bar fell short; the bartender seemed disengaged and annoyed, which was unlike the warm, attentive service we’ve experienced before. The usually perfect buns arrived cold and dry, even though the kitchen appeared to check their temperature before serving. Unfortunately, cold dishes seemed to be a recurring issue that evening, the guests next to us even received cold fish and left shortly after. It’s unfortunate to see a place we’ve loved start to lose its edge. Hopefully, the chef/owner can step in to restore the experience that once made this one of Kansas City’s best dining spots.

Gorgeous restaurant, loved the interior and the service was great. The food was lackluster and overpriced. Didn’t really care for the causes that came with the protein dishes like the duck skewer and lamb dish. Don’t recommend the beef tartare at all, it was very soupy and tasted more like tomatoes.
However, the dessert is where it’s at. Highly recommend the masa ice cream with cherry caramel.

NOTHING for Celiac/GF! THIS IS UNHEARD OF IN RESTAURANTS OF THIS CALIPER.
I had the {option} of Apple Salad for the “appetizer” portion of the menu! It was more like vinegar and poppyseed salad, not good!
For the “dinner” portion I had the options of chicken, halibut (which ended up being mahi-mahi), and sirloin with short rib.
The chicken was ok, I’m just not a fan of chicken to begin with.
The mahi-mahi also isn’t a favorite fish of mine, but in addition it was on a bed of sweet potato puree. The dish was just mush.
The sirloin had great seasoning but it was like chewing on a leather boot. As for the short rib the two shavings I peeled off the blob of fat tasted pretty good.
* The cocktail was DELICIOUS, the bartender is on point, which of why I gave a 2 star +
$200 per couple, and I left very hungry. I’m easily filled up, typically! Most “every day places” I get a kids meal that doesn’t get finished!
We were sat at the chefs table, cool view but not able to have conversations at all with our friends. Good for a 1-1 date, not with friends!
Also, its VERY hot! I enjoyed it as I’m always cold, but of our friends, I was alone in that!

Plain and simple: The Town Company is the best restaurant in Kansas City. The hyper-seasonal perfectly executed menu, paired with exceptional hospitality in a warm and comfortable environment put this place in a class of its own. No matter the occasion, you will be taken care of here.
The buns are an absolute must-order, every time. The smoked pork chop might just be the best you’ve ever had. The entire menu is perfect for sharing, and make sure you save room for dessert because it is also top-notch. Beverage program is fantastic with great cocktails and nicely curated wine list.
Above all it’s the hospitality that keeps us coming back. Please never change Town Company, you are perfect.

Excellent meal at The Town Company. Had the crudo appetizer followed by the chicken for entree. Both dishes were beautifully made and presented. The chicken was a standout! Succulent, well seasoned and the portion was generous given the type of restaurant this fits in to. Ambiance was great as was the service. Would definitely recommend and will be back!

My wife and I stayed in the Hotel Kansas City back in 2020 and we were very impressed by The Town Company. After several years, when we have our dinner tonight here again, the dining experience is one of the best. The chef and staff are very friendly. We had hot buns(must try),halibut, ribeye steak, endive salad and black sesame almond cake. We love every dish we order. Every dish is perfectly cooked and delicious.

We were staying at the hotel and it was a blizzard outside so we don’t want to venture far for a meal. We didn’t have a reservation but they were able to seat and serve us at the bar.
Bartender was friendly and fast. All staff were super polite and warm. Had great recommendations for food and drinks. We had the lobster toast, rolls with butter and carrot purree , pork chop with cornbread. We shared it all and were very full.
I will say this is definitely not for those trying to dine out on a budget. We had 2 bar drinks each, plus the food, no dessert. Out total was about $200. That said I think it was well worth what we paid, but just know what you are getting into. Also the menu is fault limited. The options are great, there just aren’t a lot of choices.

Have been here multiple times. We LOVE the pork chop and cornbread. It used to be served in a cast iron pan and now comes in a plate. Prefer the older method. The hot buns are delicious but didn’t get them tonight. The gnocchi was flavorful and this version was delicious. The service is typically very attentive, but with the NYE service it was not very engaging. Overall a fun and great place to dine.
