The soup was amazing as always, and the cornbread was good. The soft-shell crab was just okay. However, myself and one friend ordered the jumbo shrimp, and another friend ordered the Sailor’s Feast all three dishes were so oversalted that they were almost inedible. One of my friends had to dip her shrimp in water just to tolerate it, and she later ended up throwing up from how salty the food was.
When we let our waitress know, she was extremely kind and tried to help by bringing lemon and lime, but it didn’t fix the issue. The kitchen clearly oversalted the food, and unfortunately that made the main courses completely unenjoyable.
It was also concerning to see “all sales are final” on the digital menu, especially when the restaurant was nearly empty during Restaurant Week.
I want to be clear that our waitress was wonderful this was a kitchen issue. I’ve enjoyed All Star in the past, which is why this experience was especially disappointing.
Also Marry Me Salmon and college football seems like an odd pairing. Should stick to fried seafood and soups and salads.
I’m visiting from Colorado and I’ve eaten here 3 times already. I’m probably coming back before I leave. Naira was perfect!!! Thank you for the great service!!
Huge thanks to Robert for the warm hospitality, he made us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. And Julio? Top-tier service. He took care of us like we were family, attentive and professional the whole way through.
If you’re looking for amazing food, great vibes, and a team that genuinely cares, All Star Seafood and Sports is the spot. Can’t wait to come back!
After one bite, I noticed mayonnaise on the bottom of the burger and set it aside, keeping the fries. When the waiter returned, I explained the issue and ordered coconut shrimp instead. The waiter took the burger away.
Then, the waiter came back with the burger and stated there was no mayonnaise on it, saying the white substance on the bottom of the burger was melted Swiss. I pointed out the difference, but the matter was not resolved in a way that made the meal usable for me.
The coconut shrimp was good.
I paid my bill and left a tip. Food issues happen, but how they are handled matters just as much. Based on this experience, I do not plan to return.
Now for the food — we had to ask our server how to order food since it was unclear if it was on QR code or with her. You did have to order it with the server, but it seemed obvious she would not have come over if not for asking her directly. We ordered our food and after 10-15 mins they bring over a few plates of food that sounded similar to what we ordered, but not exactly. We told the server and she took it from our table and brought it directly over to a different table and set it down. It then took ~45 mins after ordering for us to get our food. We also asked for a side of ranch several times and did not receive it until almost the end of the meal. But the real kicker: our marathoner ordered chicken tenders. The rest of the food was brought out and despite asking multiple times about the status of the chicken tenders, they did not come out until ~30 mins after the rest of our food. The food overall wasn’t terrible, but certainly not worth putting up with the rest of the experience.
I understand it was a busier day, but that doesn’t excuse poor service and bad attitudes. Every time we asked for something each person we came into contact with seemed confused and inconvenienced. It was like they were avoiding our table and we could only flag them down when they were at the bar to grab drinks for other tables. I believe one of the servers names was Emoni. Overall, very frustrated and disappointed in our experience here. Definitely would not recommend, especially after the marathon.
Negatives: our servers were inconsistent and it took on average 10/15 minutes to get the attention of one. Additionally, when we asked for our server, someone would say they’d get them but would proceed to take another 10/15. When we ordered food, it took another 25 minutes at least- when it came our food was excellent and came hot and ready, but we had to ask 2-3 times for the estimated time on them coming, as again the wait took very long. We ordered a chilled shot that was very watered down (i used to be a bartender and this tasted like they left the shot in the ice and forgot about it) and again, took 15-20 minutes at least to get. We got comped those and given replacement shots, but the check came out weird. When we went to pay, we were given the amount and the touchpad. The amount was 204.50. We asked for a detailed receipt and found that the drinks were rung in differently, not comped, and they had automatically tipped themselves 18% (NOT shown on receipt or disclosed verbally- only revealed AFTER I asked specifically). That all definitely felt very scammy and possibly explained the overall bad service since they are getting an automatic tip on a 2 person table. We were discounted for the trouble, which was kind, but the end receipt that they printed out AFTER we paid still showed the two shots wrung up wrong/not comped. Overall we left feeling very torn on what to think. I’m attaching our first and second receipts.
