I recently dined at Savina’s Mexican Kitchen in downtown Denver, and it was a fantastic experience!
This place has that authentic, welcoming vibe with a nod to its long history (love the story of Grandma Savina’s recipes).

Our waiter was super friendly and knowledgeable—he recommended the chicken fajitas, and wow, what a great call!

The chicken was perfectly grilled, juicy, and bursting with flavor from the seasoning.

The sizzling plate came loaded with tender strips of chicken, grilled peppers and onions, and all the classic fixings—fresh tortillas, guac, sour cream, and pico.

It was absolutely delicious and hit the spot.

What really stood out was the award-winning green chile from Savina’s (that famous Colorado-style green chili!).

They drizzled it generously over everything, and it added such a rich, savory kick—mild heat with tons of flavor. It elevated the whole meal.

We also enjoyed some solid drinks—the margaritas were well-balanced and refreshing, perfect for washing down the tasty food.

The chile relleno I tried was good too—nice and cheesy with that crispy exterior.

Overall, the food was consistently good, the service attentive, and the portions generous. If you’re craving authentic Mexican with standout green chile and killer fajitas, Savina’s is a must-visit in Denver. Highly recommend—I’ll definitely be back! To try more ️

We had a confusing start since we had a Loloma gift certificate, but this is now Savina‘s. Lauren helped us work through it and sent us to La Lomas. We got there and they didn’t open until three so we came back here. Lauren is the reason we came back because she was so overly helpful and polite and kind. When we returned, Keri was exceptionally helpful in seating us in the perfect spot to accommodate my service dog and even made some small talk about him, which is rare and very appreciated. Service dogs are a part of who we are at this point. How we are treated when we let staff know we have a service dog, sets the tone for the entire experience. Our server, Spencer, served everything at such a perfect pace. Very personable and we would definitely request him going forward. Love it when drinks and food are paced at a relaxing speed where you never feel rushed and you never feel like you’re waiting. He nailed it. Food is reasonably priced and we came on a Friday at lunch and we’re still seated right away. You can’t go wrong. The manager, the hostess, and the servers are all on point.

The food was delicious, although I must admit it’s hard to truly impress me with cuisine alone. What absolutely stood out, however, was the service—100%. Coming from the restaurant industry myself, I can confidently say this was top-tier hospitality.

We were amazed by the atmosphere! The entire team works in perfect harmony, creating an unforgettable experience. From the very first moment, you feel right at home. Every request was heard, and every wish was thoughtfully fulfilled.

This restaurant is a true gem—where exceptional service meets an inviting atmosphere.

Downtown Denver never disappoints and this Mexican place was BY FAR phenomenal! Still drooling over the food we ate. Outstanding service for being a busy Sat night. We got the shared fajita- fresh and flavorful toppings and juicy chicken. Salsa and guacamole top tier
10/10 recommend this restaurant when visiting Denver. We will be back soon ✌

With more than 4,400 positive reviews, I doubt that I have much to add. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, the waitstaff are friendly and attentive, and most importantly the food is very, very good. The chips and salsa were tasty. We arrived in time for happy hour so we ordered margaritas on the rocks and frozen. The amount of tequila was generous. Our table also ordered the happy hour appetizers. They arrived piping hot. For our entrees, we ordered the Carne Guisada, the Anniversary Plate, and a burrito. The burrito was topped with chili and served with rice and beans. The Anniversary Plate included a stuffed sopapilla, chili rellano, and chicken flauta topped with guacamole, sour cream, and the restaurant’s famous green chili sauce. The restaurant is popular so reservations are a good idea. Highly recommend!

Excellent all around. I miss the old location in the house by the stadium, but Savina’s just justice to La Loma down to the original stained glass from the cantina and photos on the walls. I ordered chicken fajitas and a couple el Diablo Margaritas. I highly recommend both. Fried ice-cream is also excellent and slightly better than it used to be up on the hill.

If you love green chile, this is the place to go. I grew up in Colorado, and sadly have missed the type of Mexican food I grew up with living in Illinois now. This place has delicious food. If you aren’t sure about green chile, they offer a sample (comes with a fresh tortilla).

Had a great dinner at La Loma. The fajitas came out sizzling and were very good. Great guacamole,.however for $14 I would expect something a little larger. 3 of us took it down rather quickly. It would not be enough for 4. Should be a larger portion given the price. House margarita had.good flavor and was decently strong. Server was a little bit of a miss. He seemed like he was annoyed we were there. Never asked if we wanted another drink or needed anything. Very nice looking inside the restaurant.

I just had an amazing meal at Savina’s. It’s a guacamole is so thick with avocado and the chips are so fresh and delicate that they provide a spoon to put the guacamole on the chips. I had probably the best enchiladas I’ve ever eaten, cheese and green onion with Savinna’s special green chili sauce. so delicious! And I have the incredible mud pie for dessert. Beautifully presented, the coffee ice cream pie with an Oreo crust is served with a steak knife to easily cut the crunchy and delicious Oreo crust. I can’t remember ever having a better Mexican meal.

We went in last night just because it was close by after a show. The atmosphere is beautiful and very clean and inviting. It was very busy but we were sat within 10 minutes. Josue was very knowledgeable on the menu and gave us outstanding service. The food was delicious. Their house made green chile and flour tortillas are next level. Will definitely be going back.
