We enjoyed our dinner at North Fork. We had Crab Fritters and wedge salads for starters. Entrees were rib eye, and crab raviolis. Food was awesome and Abby was a fantastic server. Isaac who served us water and cleaned the table, also took care of several requests for condiments , etc…He really hustled and was very friendly. The staff joined in on some fun by offering food for our traveling moose mascot. (See photos.) Would highly recommend North Fork for a pleasant dining experience.

With not many places to eat at the lodge North Fork seemed to be the better choice for breakfast, for $25-$30 for a buffet. Biscuits, gravy, potatoes, eggs, bacon, sausage, cereal, yogurt, fruit, oatmeal and some sort of 1 pan pastry dish. The price included drinks, coffee, tea, juice, soda etc. Our server was very nice but the food wasn’t hot at all, most of it were room temp even the gravy which was very disappointing. Also, those that worked the buffet wasn’t too helpful, they knew the food wasn’t hot and they were too busy talking rather than cleaning and filling the stations.

The service was exceptional! Every person who works in this restaurant was amazing – the hostess who checked us in, the young people who took us to our tables, the young woman who took our order at dinner & delivered most of it, and the young man who took our order at breakfast & delivered it, and the young woman who kept our water glass full and cleared our plates.

We ate dinner here our first night. For starters Husband had shrimp cocktail and I had the blueberry spring salad. Both were good and filling. For our entrée, both had the ribeye with green beans and mashed potatoes. All was good, but it was too much food! We thought we didn’t have room for dessert, but we did – vanilla ice cream for Husband and huckleberry ice cream for me.

The only reason for four instead of five stars is the limited menu. It is the same thing each night. The same goes for breakfast.

For breakfast, Husband had a skillet of scrambled eggs and reindeer/caribou/bison sausage with sourdough toast and I had the scrambled eggs with bacon and sourdough toast (Dakota allowed me to substitute toast for biscuit). The strawberry jam was delicious. The food was good and filling, but I don’t know how I’d feel if I had to eat here for more than two mornings!

We ate breakfast here and it was delicious! Highly suggest asking about reservations (everyone wants to eat at the same time before their buses leave for the next tour stop) or putting your name on the list as soon as you can. The coffee shop and other property restaurants were swarmed but this one was tucked away and not everyone realized it was open for breakfast.

May 2025 Our group was not overly pleased with our experience here. They are unable to accommodate a group of 10 together (even after calling ahead and requesting), so we asked to be seated next to each other since we had to be split up. Still would not even do that. Our waiter at the group of 6 was friendly but basically told us about all the things on the menu he would not eat or recommend! Once we got our food, my fish was overcooked & the vegetables were undercooked and cold. For $40, I’ve had way better food elsewhere. One of our group made a similar comment as her meal with a salad & wine as well as a main was over $70 and she said she has had far better meals at that price point! The rest of our group at the table of 4 received their food after us at the 6 had finished eating – they had to get up and ask their waiter where the food was. It came immediately after asking and the filet that had been ordered medium rare was well done on the edges and the plates had obviously been sitting under a warming light for ages. Another disappointment with Princess. I can’t recommend eating here, but when stuck with minimum options & hunger you have to take what you can get.

Sat down and our waitress Kai came and took order for appetizer, soup and main course. My wife ord ered the crab ravioli and I ordered the halibut. As we sat and waited, a party of three sat down next to us. 10-15 minutes later they gave their orders. We received our appetizer and soup which we ate. When we had finished our appetizer and soup, the party next to us had already received their dinner. We waited for our main course and received it when the party next to us had finished their dinner. By the time we received our dinner, my wife’s dinner came hot and my dinner was luke warm with a little piece of halibut. The waitress only came by to check on us while we were eating our appetizers. We never saw her again until our check was given. We ran out of water and our glasses sat empty for at least 15 minutes until my wife had to ask a bus boy to fill them. I dont usually write reviews and don’t complain about restaurants but this place needs to educate their servers on attentive service. For the price of the meals, a customer should receive top service and hot food.

What an AMAZING view of Denali! We sat facing a picture window. Did they want us to close the blinds? No thank you! It’s gorgeous!

We had the Caesar salad (pretty standard) and the chili in a sourdough bowl (we liked the sourdough). We had the steak with mushrooms (ordered medium rare ~ came out a little more towards medium and a couple of the mushrooms were a little dry) and the shrimp scampi (a little on the lemony side, but still good). For dessert, we had the triple berry crumble (pretty standard) and the creme brulee (the sugar coating was pretty thin, BUT it was tasty).

Thank you so much to server Jhon (and the busser who didn’t just throw it away) for bringing my hubby’s pill bottle out when he forgot them out the table. I totally appreciate you!

PRO TIP: Make your reservations on OpenTable and get points!

There was 1 Pokestop accessible from the restaurant. There’s wifi in the main lodge, but not at the other buildings.

There is no doubt that the view of Denali is the best thing about this restaurant. The food was ok but for the price I would have expected better. The service was terrible. There was no service. And the manager that came over to speak to us just made matters worse. I have never left $0 for a tip until this experience.

Waiters don’t really care about customer service as they all know it’s just a summer job for them.

We asked for two extra bowls and two extra spoons to share the soup. It took so long, and when finally received, only 1 of each arrived!

We ordered 2 rib eye steaks. We were not asked how we wanted it. It was brought absolutely raw. Perhaps the cow was still jumping in the mountains of Alaska and they put it on out plates!!

We wanted to have them correct it, but thy never came around.

The 3rd dish was definitely the cherry on the top!! The Halibut was breaded BUT the bread was NOT COOKED!!

4th dish – I couldn’t eat what I ordered, it was horrible veggie pasta.

I don’t comprehend how this place can even be considered a restaurant.

Stay away

Sincerely,
Carolina

Great food, great views & good service. We enjoyed 2 days of Denali with only one rainy day. I highly reccomend the smoked salmon chowder. Drinks are really well done and cap off an evening nicely.
