Customer service was friendly, we were sat quickly, the dining area is super cute!! Happy hour had great food and drink deals, but even their regular pricing seemed reasonable. Everything was delicious, including the drinks. I got the lychee martini, I couldn’t taste much lychee but it was still a really good drink. We’ll definitely be back to try the hibachi.

Maybe don’t go on Christmas day. There was a definite shortage of staff. We had a 7 pm RESERVATION and still waited another 39 – 45 minutes for a table. However, the staff that was there made the best of it. Interesting menu options of sorta splitting a hibachi meal combo with another person. It is a pretty good deal, just remember you are splitting the protein. The chef was a bit tired and it showed. Again, he seemed to be making the best of a very long day. Probably worth it in most days. Did I already say don’t go on Christmas day?

This place is amazing! Whether you are craving hibachi or sushi you won’t be disappointed! My family and I have become regulars at this spot. Rex is the best server you can get this side of the Mississippi River! He is attentive, so kind and has a zest for life that is contagious.
The food is always fresh, hot, and spot on (even if you make deviations to what is on the menu) We usually sit in the restaurant area and this past week we picked the hibachi tables to change it up!! We were all entertained and the kids had a blast catching the shrimp when the chef flung them their way!
If I could give this place a 10 star I would. Thanks Umi and Rex for being dynomite!!!

We’ve been to Umi before for hibachi but we went for the first time just for sushi. After a bit of research I found they have one of the best sushi boats in town, and that was our main goal for my wife’s birthday.
I know when eating hibachi there’s almost always a bit of a wait time but sushi/main area there was no wait time. We had a very pleasant experience with a nice server and we ordered the Love Boat, which we absolutely loved. It was a lot of fresh fish which she loved and we got up pick a chef’s special roll which made me happy. I even got something a little special for me which was the Japanese whiskey flight. It had my favorite whiskey which was hibiki and a few new ones which I end up liking as well.
At the end got to embarrass her with their robot cat that brings out the birthday dessert.
We absolutely loved it and will be coming back again!

I let my pictures speak for themselves . I ordered the 16 piece sashimi chefs choice combination B, and my son got the green dragon roll. Our server Rex was the sweetest, the sushi chef made eye contact with us tru the night to ensure we were satisfied, so I give this place a 20/10 on everything : fresh sashimi ( never frozen ) , best sushi chefs in town, sweet staff and attentive, high quality food , nice ambiance etc …

Really great atmosphere amd experience overall. The sushi here was some of the best we have found in Wichita. They do have hibachi, but we did not do that. Our server Rex was amazing! He noticed it was my birthday just from my ID. (I wasn’t planning on saying anything). He made it a wonderful experience. I think I had seen a review that he was the best on this side of the Mississippi, and that is true. Also, the robot brought me my birthday cheesecake and it was great.

Food and service were fantastic. Some of the best sushi I’ve ever had. The Firecracker roll was insanely good. The takoyaki was to die for. However, despite all of that I have to leave a low rating for one reason. Before me and my date went to leave a bug that wasn’t a roach but looked similar started crawling around the seat. Almost gave me a heart attack. I immediately lost my appetite and had to leave. I can’t do bugs so that was nasty and gross and I hated it. Besides that one thing it was perfect
