I always try to see the best in every place we visit. This place is nicely decorated, with an attractive and fresh concept, and it benefits from a great location. The service was okay, although we felt a bit uncomfortable with the way the manager interacted with the staff—it felt more like they were partying than working. The food could be better, but the prices are reasonable.

i come here a lot bc i’m a big fan of mexican food. unfortunately i came here today bc i wanted a little afternoon snack of chips and queso bc there’s hits the spot. our server was extremely rude about it and was talking bad about us to her co workers. even though we just ordered something small i still almost tipped 50%. i recommend this place the service is just iffy.

Chimi is my mexicam go-to. Most don’t deep fry them, this onecwas excellent- not the best I’ve ever had – but the bestvivechadvin missouri. Waitress seemed like I was a nuisance- there were only 2 or 3 other tables. I wanted to sit, relax, Chillicothe, just play chess on my phone but sheckept asking for the bill. Chairs are super uncomfortable. Decor was underwhelming and felt like someone opened a restaurant with the cheapest chairs and tables paso can buy. I will go back because of the food…..maybe they’ll waitress will be happy next time?

Visiting Mizzou for the weekend, the kids wanted Mexican! The margaritas were great! The chips and salsa were plentiful, and the food was very good with large portions.

Underwhelmed with the food. My chicken was overcooked & dry. The vegies were limp and tasteless. Very little taste overall even when I added the great table salsa to them. Chips and salsa were great. Waitress was top notch.
Do have to say I usually go to the Lake of the Woods location, but friends decided to go downtown.

this is not authentic mexican food whatsoever. i’m a mexican out of state student. i was feeling homesick so i wanted to try the pozole to be reminded of home, but it was genuinely so much worse than i could’ve expected. the broth just tasted like smoky, dirty water and oil, the hominy was minimal and tiny, and the meat was so fatty (in a bad way) and flavorless. i expected it to have at least some flavor because the broth was so red, but it tasted like it had no flavoring or spices in it. it’s one thing to have decent inauthentic versions of popular mexican foods, but why even have traditional mexican dishes like pozole on the menu if you’re just going to make them terribly?? i didn’t finish my food and left the restaurant feeling sad, disappointed, and like i wasted my money. this was probably the worst thing i’ve eaten in missouri. i don’t even really leave restaurant reviews, but i don’t want any other hopeful mexican students or curious foodies to be disappointed the same way i was.

Good Mexican food. The sauces are tasty but could be a little hotter and spicier for our taste. The atmosphere and service were good too.

The other locations are AMAZING, but the downtown location is absolutely terrible. Will put you on hold if you are ordering pick for over 20 minutes, and will never get back to you if you have a complaint. I have grown up here in Columbia and have climbed my ranks through bars and restaurants so I understand the customer service side of everything. I ordered door dash and the issues with them was taken care of but the food quality needed to just be mentioned. I wasn’t looking for money or “atta boy” all I wanted to do was to let them know their food quality was well bellow their standards. The chips were stale, the salsa was a quarter full, and the quesidilla was so watery it was unbeatable. I hope you all take my words a d hear me, I LOVE your food but your downtown is terrible. Please please fix it as I work a few blocks away. Your manager is not qualified. If that was the manager who I spoke to.

Great location in downtown Columbia and a stone’s throw from Peace Park. The fish tacos are *chefs kiss* and the patio is lively on hot, sunny days. Drinks could be stronger and the mix for the margs doesn’t quite hit the spot…just another reason, to take a shot!

Las Margaritas Downtown in Columbia is a great spot for anyone craving delicious Mexican and Tex-Mex fare. The staff is consistently friendly and welcoming, creating a comfortable dining atmosphere. The food portions are generous, and both meals and drinks are tasty and satisfying—all for a fair price.
Update: I recently visited there again and was dining with my family. While dining, one of the employees was cleaning the bar area adjacent to our table. The odor of cleaning products was highly unpleasant and created an uncomfortable atmosphere for me to enjoy my lunch. I would appreciate it if they could consider scheduling cleaning tasks during non-peak hours to address this issue.
