The ShellHouse Restaurant is a locally-owned family seafood restaurant conveniently located off I-95 at exit 94 in Savannah, Georgia. In business for over thirty-seven years, The Garrett Family has consistently committed to serving the best fresh quality seafood in heaping portions. It was established in 1983 on Wilmington Island at Turner’s Creek, now called Hogan’s Marina. That first restaurant tragically caught fire, and the building was a total loss after only six months, but undeterred. The Garrett’s sought another location, purchasing the vacant “Oasis of Georgia” in 1987. This oasis once served Georgia as its welcome center. Work was underway to transform the building into a place where visitors could get a delicious…

We stopped here for dinner and it was definitely worth it! The prices seem a little high, but you do get a lot of food!

My husband and son shared crab legs and crawfish. Their plate was empty so it must have been food. My daughter got the kids shrimp and I got the grilled mahi. The green beans were good ole southern cooked. The crab stew was also amazing! (Forgot to take a picture)

Our waitress so was sweet and attentive. The layout was nice as well. The place is quite large but the way it is designed it didn’t feel crowded with the different areas/walls.

The grilled salmon what’s delicious and melted in your mouth. The ShellHouse is definitely set up for seafood and seafood lovers. Each table had trashcans below a hole in the center of the table. I have never seen that before. No matter what you order, you will find yourself discarding trash and shells there. The restaurant is diagonally across the street from the new Holiday Inn where I stopped overnight; close enough that I walked. All of the staff were cordial, friendly and unrushed. The seafood platters that I saw coming out of the kitchen were huge. This is a very pleasant and relaxing restaurant, and well decorated, too.

Was back home in Savannah visiting family when my uncle said let’s go to the Shell House. He knows I love seafood and I definitely was not disappointed. The portions are incredible and the flavor is awesome. I love the hole in the middle of the table to get rid of scraps. Waitress was very attentive and we never wanted for anything. Food was hot. The Grits were well made and the different types of shrimp I got we’re all delicious. My daughter’s steak was cooked perfectly and she really enjoyed it. My grandson got chicken tenders and it was enough for a grown up. Definitely will be back.

Best seafood I’ve had in quite some time. I had the fried oyster dinner, the wife had the fish and shrimp and for an appetizer we had the bada-bing-shrimp. as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. The seafood was fresh, delicious, and there was a lot of of it. We had plenty of leftovers, we left fat and happy. The waitress was super friendly and was tipped 30% all around one of the best food experiences we have ever had. can’t wait to come back. As far as the people giving two and three stars and complaining about this that and the other, I don’t really think you know anything about seafood

The food is delicious and they have large portions. We had “the cast net” and all of the shrimp was so yummy! We took home lots of leftovers. If you don’t want leftovers for that dish, you could easily share for 2. There is a trash can hole in the middle of the table, which was a new and different experience, and was convenient while dealing with lots of paper towels, shells, etc. The restaurant was very clean and cute decor. I highly recommend going.

This place is a whole vibe. From the moment you walk in, you get that laid-back Southern charm mixed with fun, messy seafood energy. The tables with built-in trash cans are genius — you can crack, peel, and dig into your food without worrying about the mess, which somehow makes the whole experience even more fun.

Had a really lovely experience at Shell Restaurant in London. The food was absolutely delicious, the seafood was incredibly fresh and everything was beautifully prepared. You can really tell they care about quality.

A special shoutout to Diogo, who was an amazing host and made the best caipirinhas. Super friendly, attentive and made us feel really welcome from the moment we arrived. His recommendations were great and the service throughout the evening was spot on.

Great atmosphere, excellent food and genuinely warm service. Will definitely be back!

Traveling lil foodie here!

Staring from the beginning. Easy parking. Walking in then seated right away. Drinks came out fast and so did the appetizers. Dinner came out shortly after our appetizer.

FYI most things come out in disposable plates/cups. If that offends you then go else where. I personally appreciate and love it as someone who got covid then the flu after going to another popular steakhouse chain last year. The tables and well spaced out and no chair bumping or hearing other people’s conversations.

For the food… We ordered the alligator tail and it was so tender and delicious for our appetizer. I ordered the miami drink. Sooo good if you like a Pina colada. My husband ordered the long Island ice tea and he was good with just one lol. Soo good. I ordered the snow crab boil dinner. It was soo much food lol. As a seafood snob everything was cooked to perfection nothing was over cooked. My husband ordered the surf and turf and I don’t know what seasonings they put on the steak but that was magical. The fried shrimp and grits he got he said it was amazing. The hushpupies were some of the best I’ve ever tried. It is a semi casual restaurant seafood place with the taste and service of a upscale restaurant. The price might seem a liltlle on the high side but the flavor of love is in the food that justifies it.

The manager did swing by to say hi and to see how we were doing. We both said everything was a 10/10. Our first time there and won’t be our last! It’s going to be our new spot for sure!! Amazing food. Lovely location with the pond view and none of the hassle of going to the downtown seafood place we were going to before in savannah. ♥️

This was my first time coming here. The atmosphere was pretty good and the service was great. However, the food was basic for me. I’m used to my food being more seasoned. The snow crabs are boiled in just water which I don’t like. Overall, I’ll probably won’t return only because I’ve had better in the area.

The atmosphere and the people were amazing. The food was cooked fresh to order and was out within minutes. Can’t have a better rating than 5’s all across the board!
