Came here for lunch with a friend and the food was AMAZING! They had good music, service, and the tea was scrumptious. Appetizers were lovely! Would recommend to anyone looking for a good social setting and yummy food!

Update: I don’t know why my photos didn’t upload. Just added them today.

Pride Sushi and Thai is one of those easy, reliable spots when you’re craving either sushi or classic Thai comfort food. The sushi rolls are fresh and nicely presented, with good balance and not overloaded with sauce. The pad thai and curries are flavorful, slightly sweet and savory in that familiar, satisfying way. It’s casual, clean, and relaxed — perfect for a low-key dinner or takeout night. Nothing overly fancy, just solid food that consistently hits the spot.

Located on Peterson Avenue in West Ridge, which becomes quite congested at times, the location is necessarily ideal. However, once inside, this place feels welcoming and service is very good. Presentation of their food items are also quite impressive. Flavors, however, were inconsistent at best. Ramen noodle in particular reminded of a packet one would purchase at a grocery store. Beef salad, while it looked pretty, was nothing more than sliced flank steak on bed of lettuce. Little more variety of vegetables would have made it so much better. Overall, it is a nice place in an area that could use good restaurants.

I don’t recall when was the last time I’ve visited this location or ordered it online. After selling my car, I started trying to find locations closer to me and stopped buying food from here as much. Although one other restaurant has better Thai fried rice with tofu (but located on the South Side), Pride Sushi & Thai puts them to shame when it comes to sweet potato maki rolls, avocado maki rolls, fried tofu with peanuts, edamame and spicy miso soup, which is what I order 99% of the time. My birthday was this week, and I was trying to think of food to order that my omnivore family would like too. This one popped into my head, and we ordered some meat dishes for them too.)

Because I’ve been here so many times (including when the restaurant used to have a different name and [I believe] different owners), I know they know me by face. I usually smile and wave. I’ve brought family, friends and co-workers here too.

The brother owner (don’t recall his name right now) sat down with me once for a few minutes, and he was a delight. His sister (Ae?) is my restaurateur buddy too! But I don’t believe I’ve seen either of them in at least a year. When I opened the door to get the delivery and saw her, I think she was surprised to see me because the order was under a family member’s name. I gave her a big hug before before I even thought about the usual wave or handshake. I just love those two. They’re always so friendly and warm and nice to me. Only thing competing with them is the food!

My last review is a few years old, but I wanted to update this review to say absolutely nothing has changed. They’re still 5 out of 5 with me! The food was amazing, as it always is.

Decided to stop by here for dinner. Tried their curry and sushi which were pretty good. The curry was advertised to be spicy but I didn’t taste any difference from a regular. Could just be a difference in how they spices it that day. The sushi was also really good albeit a little bit on the bigger side – it was similar in size to kimbap than sushi. Overall a nice experience and the waiter was quite attentive.

Green curry was very good, the chef has been there for 12 years, contemporary Thai music fairly loud was good as well, since I sat by the window, noticed they need more pride cleaning all the windows, really dirty as well as the door. It’s your real pride to keep your place spotless so customers feel good about eating there instead of take out only…

Just tried this small neighborhood sushi place for the first time
Overall very pleased
Decor is almost just right(real brick would be soo much more appealing than wallpaper brick)
The food was satisfying and tasted fresh
We started with Gyoza chicken (fried like potstickers) very tasty
My main was Teriyaki beef, it was appealingly presented. I personally needed more spice so I asked for spicy sauce, with a bit added it was perfect and flavorful
We then had a Philly Maki roll, it was perfect and tasty with smoked salmon
We finished off with the Go Black Hawk Maki plate. It was also satisfying even if the jalapeños seemed to be inconsistent throughout the roll (some pieces very spicy, some not at all)
The service was also friendly, quick and quite adequate
I would recommend this place for a quick bite or even as a date night spot (BYOB)

This is one of the best sushi I had in the chicago region. I didn’t like their miso soup but I ordered the chefs special sushi gold platter and it’s just delightful!

Not my first time coming here and they always have great food and service. Place is always empty and nicely decorated. Their food items are great, but their sushi is a bit small and the unagi sauce is a bit too salty. Would recommend the furious Udon and the spicy crispy chicken, so good!
